Avy danger is extreme...EVERYWHERE!!!!

Just a friendly reminder, with all the fresh snow lately the avy danger is extreme in many and most areas right now. We rode Copper Basin/Iron Bog between Arco and Mackay Sat. and set off 2, 1 was pretty massive. We had 3 locals who are very familiar with the area, and were staying off the hills that normally slide, playing on the ones that are generally "safe." Two brothers set one off that was probably 400-500 feet in width and about a 3-4 foot shelf. Both were turning out of their climbs when it broke. Luckily one turned left and went out of the path, the other turned right and was in the slide. It broke off about 5 feet above his turnout so he actually went over the slide to begin with, but when he came down on the base it was mostly hardpack/ice and he couldn't slow down soon enough and caught back up with the slide and went right in the middle. He stayed on the sled and rode through it about midway until he was stuck. We were pretty lucky that he didn't get buried and we were able to get his sled out in just a few minutes. Pretty scary though. So please everyone wear your beacons, have your shovels and probes, and be extra careful. We already lost 3 sledders in Wyoming over the weekend, and 2 skiers in Montana.
