I was looking at the Avivest.com looks like a good product, was looking for some feedback on the fit as well as where you got yours from. As well I like the look of the BCA pack.

Does anyone know if either of these products made it to retail? If so, what did ya pay and where did you go to get it?

Thanks, any relevant feedback is welcome

word is....BCA bag will make it to retail sometime between now and spring........

i HAD pre-orered one....cancelled that and bought an ABS Escape 15..used once for under $800

avi vest is a great idea....if you dont ever wear a backpack

I got to try on a working sample of the float 30 and I was very very impressed!!! I wore the abs 15 all last year and dont mind the pack but the fit is terrible. The float actually has a very good fit and is much more comfortable to wear and the inflation is pretty fast as well. I actually had a hard time telling much of a difference between the two inflations side by side. Price says it all though ABS is gonna have to step it up to stay in the buisness here..........

The owners of Avivest are Squaw Valley Ski Patrol and Heli Ski Guides at http://alaskaheliski.com.
They designed the pack to be used by heli skiiers and snowmobilers.
I have checked it out, it has a lot of interior storage for your shovel and probe, and much more. I want one.

how do we wear the vest over our klim jackets? tried one on at the puyallup show. great for skiiers but i think abs and bca are better fit for our sport. i personally wear the orig abs single. had it for 6 years still looks good bought new bottles and tested fine last season abs is selling the single agin. the bca fits vary similiar to the orig abs. the snopulse bag is alot more compact than the others but the cost up there 899.00 vs 499. they are all worth the money it if they save lifes..............

BCA vs AviVest

BCA expects their packs to arrive at their location in Colorado during the 2nd week in December. Then they need to assemble them and ship them out to the dealers. If everything goes as planned, we should have the packs sometime around the end of December. AviVest should be available soon, but no exact date yet. The AviVest will be available in Small, Med/Large, and Xtra Large, so you should be able to fit it over most coats, but the BCA pack will have more storage room for extra items (30 litres storage volume). Both will be excellent packs, and somewhat close to the same price.
