Avalanche Saftey DVD's???

I know this isn't the "avalanche awareness" section, but I feel that there may be quite a few people interested in this. I was wondering if anyone knows of any avalanche survival and saftey dvd's out there? Some of us "flatlanders" have very little, if any, knowledge on this topic and are too far away from any of the classes, or the dates just dont work. A dvd would also work for a quick little refreshment before a week long ride. Also looking for a pack, probe, beacon, shovel combo. What would you suggest? I am sure someone on here would love to sell me one. I prefer a pack that holds the probe and shovel on the outside.

Thank You

good question! there are many good options for packs, beacons, probes, etc and there are folks on here who can sell you a combo Im sure. If you cant find someone on here give Cooke City Motorsports a call and see what they can do for you , I know they have several different combo options from basic all the way up to ABS packs. There number is 838-2231. The Exxon and Bearclaw Bobs has equipment as well, I just dont know if they do combos. Check out the scc.com link in my sig for numbers for all those places.

as for dvds there are some good ones out there. Check out "A Dozen More Turns" Also some of the companies like BCA put out there own. I know at a recent avy class I saw a video put out by Teton Gravity Research as well I think. It seems that the backcountry skiier and snowboard side of things has more work out there in this department.

I just picked up a tracker dts, bca shovel/probe combo, and a klim pack.

I will check out a few of dvd's you recommended, LSB.

HJC sells a really good pack, shovel and probe combo
They have a website but you'll have to google for it.
Great stuff, not "Top of the line" but close and very affordable and good quality too.
(It's what I use)
