Which avalanche pack is more recomended ABS or the Snow Pulse?

Good question. I would like to know the same thing. Wasnt there a company developing something that was supposed to be alot more cost effective? Sounded like they were doing a tonne of research on it last year.

The ABS has a long proven track record in Europe, that's what I bought

I have the escape 15 and feel it is a good product, but if I were to buy again I would get the Snowpulse. I tried one on at the sled show and found it lighter and more comfortable. I think some of the features are just the result of newer better technology.

I have an ABS and so does my son. I have also sold several to others. I usually recommend to get an extra cylinder and trigger. That way, if you have an accidental discharge your $1000+ piece of safety equipment isn't useless till you get a refill. I have also looked at the one that goes around your head but don't like the idea of the restriction on my moving, if I am trying to "swim for my life" if I am unfortunate enough to have to pull the trigger. I strongly believe they will both help to reduce the risk of burial. buy whichever you like, just buy one. We spend lot's of money on this sport we love, if we can increase the odds it's money well spent. I hope both you and us never get to use them no matter how much they cost, or which is "better"
