AVALANCHE it montana, small

I sincerely hope that you do not have a wife and children.

I feel bad for your mom and dad.

And for your riding buddies that will be there to pick up the mess when "the wave" wins.

My heart aches reading your posts in this thread! :brokenheart:

PLEASE tell me I'm reading it all wrong.............

BTW, if trees are far enough apart for a sled to ride through it isn't thick enough to keep an avy from sliding.

Ditto....you've said what I've been thinking.

u think i go looking for these slide your wrong, i dont, if u think im the only one to set them off you wrong, next tim i wont show any picks of this stuff. I show it to let you no whats up, I will no not post any slides or tell you were they were att, thought it would help somone out dont juge me over picks and posts:mad:

Their comments are in response to yours.... "thats some good picks,we had a good day up their those slides are what i crave thats has to be the bigest thrill iv EVER had when surfing a big wave, cant wait to do it again!!!!! we all need helmet cams".

Go find another sport. We dont need another statistic.

People like you should have to stand eye to eye with a widow or mother of an avy victim...hope you grow up before it's yours that someone else has to break the news to.

lol

spell check m1000snowman, I got a headache trying to decipher your posts here.lol

I'm not sure what you were expecting when you posted this thread and pictures?? I thought there would have been more comments about how stupid (not you) but your decision making process was by climbing these hills when this is an absolute crappy year to be climbing. In the end, it's your decision to climb what you want, where you want and when you want. These couple of peeps are just clarifying that if you keep it up, one of these threads that contains statistics that we are trying to avoid will be about you if you keep it up. This isn't a reply to bash you, just hope we ain't reading about your funeral when your buddy has to post the next pics instead of you.

While we appreciate your info on slides, I think most people would rather look on an avy sight for the forecast instead of having actual real time pics of a sled half buried to tell them what they should already know. stay off the hills.

Sorry, but you joked to a "friend" on a public thread, in a public forum, for the public to read. And there was no indication of "joking" in the post I read.

So, if you don't want us -the public- to comment on your posts to your friends, maybe keep it private. But it would appear you were looking for comments, just not the kind I (and others) gave. To read your "wave" comment made my gut hurt. If I read it wrong, who can blame me, the grammar isn't all that. lol I'm not the only one who read it like as if you were a thrill seeker. And in your video, you do say "there you go randy, that's the biggest one YET". So, you put yourself out there and you get a reaction you didn't want. We've all been there. Hopefully we all learn from it.

It would also appear that my post struck a nerve. I wasn't calling you stupid or anything else. I wasn't judging you. I was just hoping that, really, that I read it ALL wrong and you'd set it straight. And you did, kinda, you stated that you don't go looking for avalanches, maybe they come looking for you then? (sorry, that was a bad joke):o

So, if we all seem to be JUDGING you and you don't feel it is justified or fair..... then hopefully that will make you strive to never be in a situation to be able to take pics of a slide again.

But, thanks for judging me and calling me a dummm A**** pepole when you don't know my background and that my post was a caring one coming from my experiences......... that I'm STILL learning from.

You didn't piss me off. But you did make my heart ache. Because I've been there to clean up such messes and man... it isn't fun, even when you get to bring your buddy home alive. I just looked at your pics on photobucket (public) and man those are some cute kids............. and it makes my heart hurt again.

IF you are making these posts for informative reasons, great. The more info we can get the better off we all are. So, how about in the future providing some details/ facts. And, hate to pick on you, but being able to read it and understand it would really helpful.
Date
Time of day
Where (more specific if possible)
Which direction was the slope facing
Temps
Recent snow conditions change
Angle of slope
What caused the hill to slide

The best to ya!

Very well said CoyoteGirl. He got smart and deleted his "joking" post.

You just do not joke about stuff like this.

If avoiding avalanche areas, runout zones, and being careful means that I am a dummmm a$$$$, then I will tell you that I am proud to be one. My kids and my husband are extremely happy that am one.

Most of us that have been on here for some time have lost friends to avalanches and we take them extremely seriously.

You are a fellow member and human being and we don't want to read about your death.

CoyoteGirl said you have kids. What the hell are you thinking? You better have an excellent insurance policy (over $500,000) so that your wife can care for your kids.

OK, now I am getting mad so I better just quit by saying "Grow up and take responsibility"
