for you guys that wanted the bag deployed after the avy starts, i think this last test gives you an idea of how it would work. the shot where the snow is pounding the dummy into the rocks and then he disappears for a frame or two and then reappears should show you what you want. these things do work. just hope the confidence of seeing these tests don't make some guys feel like they can go out riding right now and that you can survive an avy. ride safe.

great pictorial! you guys sure pound the snot out of those dummies.....that is some rock laden country for sure.

we are all waiting on the million dollar question though.......ballpark a cost.

wanna bring your helo and anfo for some play in out country :D

Very nice to see you're testing your device. Great to see the end results. The testing, even though certain individuals will always pull the negative out, is certainly positive.

It makes me appreciate the ABS bag I wear.

Hey WARI

since your making your own vest to be worn on the outside is there a chance you could incooperate something like TEKVEST or BWEAR style protection into the vest?

I'd also like to see a backpack made for the vest, so you can take off the backpack portion and still have ABS protection on at all times.

WE are trying to put together the Avi-Vest for $525.

We are also working on a backpack, but there is enough room in the Avi-Vest for a probe, shovel, munchies and other day use stuff.

We see it again and again where test dummies placed together on the mountain often stay together all the way down the mountain. This may be why snowmobilers are killed by blunt force trauma as they are killed by their own machine as they tumble together down the hill....

More pics to come....

appreciate all the info and pics and time you guys are putting in to showing us results,will there be tests done for riders over 200pds, any idea on release dates for the product.

Ya, how about stickin 2 dummies together with one backpack and sending them on their way down the avalanche.

appreciate all the info and pics and time you guys are putting in to showing us results,will there be tests done for riders over 200pds, any idea on release dates for the product.

That is some awesome stuff. It looks like a enjoyable job especially knowing you are making a difference and saving someones life. I to being a bigger guy would like to kknow about 250 plus. great stuff thanks for posting.:beer;

We don't think these airbags will have any trouble with a 250 pound person. Two years ago we floated a 250 pound piece of oak to the surface of a class 2 slide (couldn't find a 250 test dummy so we used a big tree trunk).

Here's another slide.....
