Avalanche beacon rental

A couple of guys and I from Michigan are heading to Grand Mesa at the end of Jan. We are looking for a place to rent becons from near Grand Mesa Co. We would just buy some but only come out once a year. If any one knows of a place or any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I doubt you will find anyone that will rent beacons. Due to the liability. Check Ebay for some used ones. Or stay out of avalanche terrain when you guys come out and don't worry about beacons. I have 2 extras I would sell. If interested pm me.

I would definalty check snotel cause riding as been poor around here and watch for rocks Big Rocks last check was 49 inches not good for gm hopefully we get lots more snow but it is all going around us for some reason this year only been out once and stayed on the trail hate buying a arms pray for lots of snow before then I have been and it isnt working for me.

Just buy some. It is worth it for your once a year trip. That way you can practice with them and become proficient in finding someone. Just remember to take the batteries out when you store them so that the batteries don't leak and destroy your investment. They will last 10 or more years with that little of use. Definitely worth the purchase.

Ya just buy some, compared to the other expenses related to snowmobiles it is pretty inexpensive and extremely valuable. If you want to rent them though, I know the rec program at my school (university of utah) rents them so maybe if you can find a school near where you're headed you'd be in luck.
