Lost the handle off my ABS today. Has anybody else done this or I am the lucky one. Read all the instructions. Maybe thats where I went wrong. Snow was done so not a big deal but now I'm curious to what I need to do for next year

I thought that I lost mine last year and simply bought another at the snow show in the fall.

I lost it while riding. looked down and it was gone. I even do the loose strap thing instead of completely open.

While taking a avy coarse this season I had taken off my backpack to take out my probe, when I went to put the backpack back on I noticed that my handle was gone.
Lucky for me it was laying next to my track on the snow, luck was on my side that day.
I have now put some orange tape on it so if it ever happens again I maybe able to find it again.

Good to know. Tomorrow I'm going to call the guys at Snow big deal and see if they have any suggestions. Will update as I find out more.

some of us paint ours safety orange in case they are dropped while installing or removing them on the snow.

i lost my handle this year while I was out riding. I think the problem is when the connection isn't lubed very well, the connectors don't seat all the way so the handle can fall out as you move around during your ride. Thats what that little vile of lube is for when you first buy the bag, keep your connections lubed and that should help the parts engage and lock the way they are supposed to.

SW... you should find some lube that's not so vile... It's a shame that you feel so strongly about it. Maybe next time you can buy a vial of not so vile lube from snowbigdeal:face-icon-small-win

btw, I tend to not lube mine well. but if you work the action a bit, it loosens up & will grab, I just make sure the collar goes ALL the way out before I stop messing with it, also, every time I've ever pulled an ABS bag (many tests now, and one for real) I've done it through the velcro strap being all the way tight. I've never pulled it off. My 105 lb wife also has pulled it with the velcros attached every time, so strength isn't an issue.
