Auxillary Power on M Series

Check behind the aluminum cover between the pipe and steering post. My 08 M8 has a single male plug in the cluster there and it's just an aux power source. Not sure if the 06's have it or not.

Yeah, took that off and there is definetely alot of plugs back there. Not sure if any are auxillary power. Did the plug have a "dummy" plugged into it?

The 05's had them coming off the headlight harness up by the windshield underneath the stock intake plenum. It worked perfect for the koso gauges,
I thought I read the 06's had the plug behind the aluminum cover by the steering post.

That dummy plug you are talking about should be the tether hookup. Disconnect it and I bet the sled won't start.

I would not recommend using an hot lead from a sled that does not have a 12V battery in the circuit, to power an electronic device. The voltage regulator off the mag. will not keep the voltage to a close enough tolerance for most electronic equipment (i.e. GPS, MP3). If you do hook up a device there is a good chance the voltage will spike and fry your device.

Just a thought ;)

Yup, it's behind the aluminum cover in front of the steering column. Yup, the voltage regulation is horrible, and on an '06 it's AC so use the rectifier that comes with the Koso meter. I had to add a resistor in the circuit as well to keep the voltage down. Don't remember what value of resistor I used though, sorry.
