Guys, if it was up to me all paid premium members would have the option of turning on or off all of the ads at their choice. But that is not my choice to make. The best I could do for you, after MONTHS of work was to offer an "option" that you could buy in to that doesn't block ads, but actually changes the structure of the SnoWest Forums.
Please understand, at its core, Harris publishing is a seller of ad space. That is how they generate income for the company. So turning off ads kinda goes against their core structure. The solution we came up with was a compromise, no argument about it.
If you seriously doubt it's value, spend ONE DOLLAR and try it for the month and see what you think.

I have turned the feature ON for you for a few minutes just so you can "SEE" it in real time.
All we ask is that you STOP selling this type of ad.
We have made it crystal clear that we HATE these ads.
Why would you continue to agrevate us intentionally?
I am not to the tipping point.........yet, but when a favorable alternative arises there will be an exodus of members from this site to that one.
If Harris doesn't understand this, please enlighten them.

I have done my best to let them know everyone's feelings.
WHY do you think I pushed to hard for the option to allow you to buy your way out of all the ads? And even that caused some of their advertisers to have an apoplectic seizure over the thought of you being able to turn off their ads.
Have you even TRIED the new option.?
Obviously I can't speak for you.
But I have a $25,000 one of a kind sled, a $30,000 totally custom trailer, 1 semi-moded sled and 2 stock sleds. I am easily into this sport for $75,000 and I suspect so are a whole lot of other members.
And yet the issue is a ONE DOLLAR expenditure to make your forum experience vastly better.
Seriously, flip the switch for just a month and see the difference it makes.
At least try it before you let it's concept drive you over your tipping point.

It's not one dollar, it's paying indefinitely to remove what was purchased with OUR money in the first place.

Ads have always been on this site since the day it was created.
if you were here in 2008/2009 you should remember unending site outages. The servers would crash and stay OFF LINE for long periods of time, and there were many issues that would drag on for weeks at a time without being resolved.
You may not care for any of the new features that have been added to the premium memberships, and if so then Harris continues to offer the free memberships that work pretty much the same as they did back in 2008. And the paying indefinitely ended when the LIFETIME memberships were offered in response to member requests to PAY ONCE.
BTW.
You need to LOG OUT and LOG BACK IN again before your account will show you the difference of the No-Ads options. Your account still has it toggled ON, and if you are not seeing it, thats why.
So what do you think of it now that you can see it with your own eyes?

I am not opposed to ads at all.
I am very opposed to the side ads and malicious, aggressive ads that interrupt the conversations and browsing.
I have friends that own businesses which buy ad space on here. I found a new cheaper race gas dealer due to an ad in here. I understand their purpose for Harris, vendors and customers. The current ads on the free forums is a terrible way to accomplish that purpose.
My intention has never been to cause problems, but to help find solutions.
A better sales pitch would be to allow more people to see the ad free forums.

For the time being, that is the best solution I have been able to offer our members.
In addition to being a Sledder, I am also a HAM radio operator.
Was out on my favorite HAM site and noticed they are also selling an Ad-Free option in addition to their Premium Memberships, but they are charging quite a bit more than we do
