ATACC do they work?

Tired of changing back and forth for different altitudes-looking at installing a compensator and wondering if they work good or are there horror stories out there? Would be installing it on '06 600HO Switchback. Thanks guys.

Yes they work well. I find that the jetting suggestions are on the rich side and some leaning out may be required. Follow instructions to the letter for install. Call Holtzman if you have problems, they can & will help.

Have had an atacc on my 04 Polaris rmk 800 since ~05. My brother has had one on his 01 RMK 600 since 02 and his sled is a strong machine!

I put one on my 99 770 with twin pipe's. That will be the best $250.00 that you can spend on your sled. I live at sea leavel and can be at 6500' in 45min. ride from my house, simple to put on, never had any truble with it been on the sled 4 year's. Get one you'll be happy with it.

like they said works great have it on my ported/single piped 800 edge get it jetted right once and never look back :)
altitude is one thing but you forget about temp. but you'll notice when your buddys are starting to fall behind

I personally think they are junk had one on a 99 polaris and always had problems. Have not used or been around the vari flow so i cant comment on them. Keep in mind that a few have posted about the temp change these do not compensate for temp just barometric pressure meaning (altitude)

I put two on. One worked good, other than a little low end bog, the other always way rich, no matter what we did to the jetting.

I was so impressed with how well the variflow worked on my modded MSRX that I put an ATACC on my RX-1M in 2003. I still ride the sled today and it runs strong. I can't tell you if the ATACC works or not but, I can tell you the sled runs awesome.

The Holtzman instructions are always a struggle. I usually have to call and have Barry try to explain what he meant when he wrote the instructions. That issue right there might be a big part of the problem.

Frosty

it's been on my 99srx for 2 years - works perfect from Illinois trails to Wyoming hills - any temp. Just change heel clicker weights & go

I had the Atacc on my 02 RMK 800, and it worked great. The only adjustment I ever had to make was with the fuel screws. I jetted for -20C at 2000 ft, in the spring at +10C and 6000ft I needed a little less fuel for an off idle bog. Other than that, jetting was always spot on, others have had different results. I think proper installation is key, all the hoses from the carbs to the air box need to run up with no low spots.

some problems some may be having is if you happen to roll your sled and any of the hoses fill with fuel, you will have problems. and if you don't have a good seal for the clear hose you won't get the right vacuume (sp) you need. but other than thoes two things to look out for they work as advertised.

i usually don't say that many products are junk, but sorry this one takes the cake. First and most crucial deletion on my 03. Came with it and it wouldn't run anywhere. Hated it. It ran better with 450's in it than with that thing on it. It made the sled so fat it wouldn't even run anywhere off idle. As stated above, junk.

We see alot of ATTACs that have problems brought to us. ALL have been the installers fault>ALL. You are right though, the instructions are not always clear.
