At a loss on my problem

I took it to Bill down at Adrenaline. Hows the apex running?

I just cant believe that the first thing they didnt try was removing the fuel controller?

Ive said this 1000 times on this forum...

take a 10,000+ brand new sled, put a 3,4,5,6,$7,000 plus turbo kit on it, $1000 track, 2,$3000+ in suspension upgrades, $2000+ tunnel, gauges, clutching, venting, odds and ends, and small goodies to make your sled as good as it can, and it usually all boils down to a $20 small cheap electronic box with very little adjustments technology features and control, no weather proofing in our harsh riding environment and everyone wonders why sleds dont run anywhere near the potential that they can. It boggles my mind!

These are usually the same people who say carbed turbo's are junk! (and yet they have never owned one!)

Jeff Im sure your gunna love your boost it kit! THEY WORK!!!! BTW, the apex is running awesome!!!

Yea it was partly my fault on when I took it to Adrenaline. The way it ran it seemed like my stator failed (from my banshee days) so I got the specs for the resistances on the leads and the leads that went to to reg/rect. for the ecu showed way off. So he ordered me a new stator and then I brought the sled in with turbo removed but left the airbox, fuel controller, and stuff on and he was going to warranty out the stator but I must have not had a good connection when I tested it because he called and said the stator checked out fine. So he hooked it up to the computer to see what codes and saw those so checked for compression, etc. Since all looked fine I went and picked it up so I didn't have to sit and pay shop time for them to check out the stuff I installed.

Got it home and unhooked the box and all was good. I just never had a box fail on my apex, and hadn't heard of anyones elses dumping raw fuel out of the exhaust when their box failed. Turns out though now I know of 3 people it has done that to. So live and learn, unhook the box to troubleshoot, just seemed the way it was running it didn't have the electrical juice to stay running.

Check the wires are not broken on your secondary injectors.

x2, I agree. I just pulled my kit to check things out. One of the wires had just barely rubbed through. Lucky I caught it when I did. I've heard of a few other guys have this happen too.

ALL the det you silber guys are seeing is a direct result of a small compressor overheating the charge and a much too small turbine.. get one flowed and you will see just how OFF target that turbo really is...

drop the turbo in a box and put it back on EBAY where he found them, get a 2871 and smile with 100 degree lower charge temps..

lots of guys have done the testing for you already with results posted of charge temp reductions JUST from getting rid of that pachinnko turbo..

you get what you pay for is soooo true in the turbo game..

AAAAMEN THANK YOU GUS,FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!

Not saying its not true....Just wondering if you could point to where the results have been posted on a "real" turbo vs. the "pachinnko" turbo that Silber sends with the kit. I'm curious to see this #'s.
thanks in advance

He wont show you results Matt, you know why? Because he is wrong. the det issues are mainly from lean spots with the fueling. gus. You say put a 2871 on and see 100 degree less temps with just a turbo swap?lol Why is it i make pull after pull and not hit the Det light building so much heat as you claim with out a 2871?

I know, that's kinda why I asked though,lol

Your det can be nothing more than midrange clutching. Alot of stock Pro's here in ak hit the det in the midrange. Without loading the motor harder in the mid via mtx weights and helix changes, you hit the rev limiter even though according to the tach it doesnt appear to. Try some more helix or weight. I really doubt with your low boost running the fuel you are it's a fuel issue unless you are just plain running it too lean.
