Assault, Track Screws, and the Coolers

Does coolant flow across the front of the tunnel? My understanding was that track screws in the center lugs of the Comp track couldn't hit the coolers on an Assault...but then on HCS.com a guy says he took out his cooler with his track screws and I'm trying to figure out how. I have screws in mine, and have for about 1000 miles and haven't had a problem (yet).

I thought the coolers were only on both sides and crossed over at the back.

The coolers don't run all the way across the front on my 2013 Assault. Can't imagine the 2012 is different. Run tunnel protectors if you put screws in the outside lugs...really simple with 1" aluminum tubing. Let me know if you need pictures. It might not be a bad idea even if you are only running screws in the middle. It may save your tunnel.

Thanks for the response. I'm only running them in the center. They do scuff the tunnel at the back but that's the only place I have seen them hit. I'll do a search...I think maybe I remember seeing some pictures of tubing as protectors on here.

The studs are nice but not totally necessary for me. I might just take them out if it causes that much of a problem.
