assault track question

I've snow checked a 2010 polaris assault and looking for a better deep powder track for it,any suggestions?I've seen a camoplast challenger 16" wide x 146", would this fit in the tunnel?I would prefer the stock length, but a little longer might be ok if it doesn't affect handling to much.

one word. Powerclaw!

16" wont fit.

The 141 powerclaw on my sled was amazing this year. I'd lose the 2.5 inches of length & gain a better track. The assault track options suck.

How about the optional polaris track for this sled.It seems going 5" shorter for a better track, kind of defeats the purpose.I would prefer the stock track length with stock geometry, unless alittle extra length does not affect handling.

A little longer should not affect handling at all. I can't notice a diff. when stepping off my 163" on to my dads 155" at all. JMO

camoplast will have a 146" challenger extreme track out this year I was told. I have an 09 assault and the track was adequate in all situations except very light powder. Then it completely trenched. I myself am just going to bite the bullet and go to a 155"

Camoplast Model#9087M

Camoplast has a 146x15x2 track that would work. You'll need to ditch the stock middle extrovert driver on your Assault for it to fit.

Camoplast Challenger Extreme #9145M ---15 x 146 x 2.5--2.86 pitch-- Center ported for the Assault--Made for the Assault and Fits right in with no modifications

In stock at: www.tracksusa.com

Go with a 153 Powerclaw. The longer track fits fine under the 146 tunnel. I put a 155 camo under my 09 144 800. It doesnt look any different that Arctic Cat's Msleds. I just purchased the Powerclaw for this season, the guys at Carls are running them on their Dragons and like them. If you are looking for a Powerclaw, Benny's Arctic Cat in Gooding ID has some lift I think. 208-934-4642 Good luck

If a 3 pitch 153" track fits in the stock tunnel, than a Pol 2.86 pitch 155" should fit also, correct? Then why does the 155" dragon have a longer tunnel, when it shouldn't need it? I don't have my sled yet, just pictures and part #'s and it seems the track lugs would be past the rear bumper and through the snoflap.Do you have any pictures of a 153" assault? Also do they make Pol splined 3" track sprocket(7 tooth)?

put a 155" polaris OME track and rail extentions from tracks usa thats what i had done ..then you have 2 options tracks to chose from depending on snow conditions..

taking up the slack?

I am thinking about getting the 2010 Assault.
What did you do to take up the extra track going from the 146 to the 153 powerclaw? Big Wheel kit, rail extension, or set back?

Just get the Camo Extreme 146x15x2.5 or go up to the 155x15x2.5

DON"T waste your money on the Powder Claw. It's only a 2.25" paddle. Why do you think there are so many for sale on internet? Guys don't like the way they come downhill after they get 100 to 200 miles on them.

Just my .02 cents after ridding one.

After riding with the guys with camo extremes, that is the only track I would consider swapping to. The only question would be what length? Stick with the 146 now that camo makes one, or go to the 155? All depends on how extreme of a jumper you are. Myself, I would go 155, but then again I am a big guy and am used to changing broken rails on my 159!

Braking downhill is over-rated:D
I would go for the 90 duro if I swapped to the powerclaw.
