assault not holding up to abuse

If you're gonna huck it, expect things to happen. My PRO has held up to the abuse I have thrown at it so far, but I am only 160 pounds. The biggest I have dropped so far is 60+ and I do have bent running boards already...but no complaints from me on this sled! :face-icon-small-coo

I learned a long time ago with dirtbikes, mountain bikes, snowboard stuff, cars, trucks, and most of all sleds. It doesn't matter how many jumps, drops or burnouts are on the posters at the dealership....if you're going to use it like that, it's going to break stuff. That's how the aftermarket stays in business.

Personally I think it's awesome if they are going good for warranty on those issues....I would have thought you'd be denied.

Agreed, there is alot of information left out in this thread...it does hold up well to abuse, but even one jump that doesnt go right (hard hit, land crooked etc)could damage the chassis enough (and you may notice it) to have other jumps that are good landings leaving lasting effects and continuing the problem...i would guess that you could take that sled off of tons of 100 footers if everyone of the landings were perfect...fact is sometimes parts just dont hold up, thats where the warranty comes in at, but i dont think its worth starting a pissing match saying that now your not happy with the chassis cuz thigns have broke, when it gets down and dirty randy says he trusts it off 100 fters not that its built for them, and i guarantee your warranttee paper work is the same as a rmk...either way glad you are getting dealer help

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it, friend crashed his assault switch, hit rock at 50 mph with right ski, out of control he pinned the gas on hard pack oh oh,sled launched into air 50'? sheared 4" pine nose first into ground which then caused it to end over end take out at least 6 4 to 5" pines landing atleast 150' probably more from rock.Luckily he fell off after shearing the 1st pine so the sled cleared his way into the trees.Wow this could have been realy ugly, so my buddy's up and walking we pull his sled out to find NO damage, the handle bar was maybe 1/2" off, the bumper took the the brunt of the hit but wtf i'm sold, these things are tough as nails. He had skinz float plate ORDER ONE it must have had alot to do with saving that front end.I dont think he want's me posting pics of the scene but it was scary, maybe.Talked to him this morning he's at work feels fine and did i mention not a scratch.......

had another problem yesterday. was jumping off a road and doing a decent drop and the coolant bottle mount broke cause the hose coming from the cooler to pop off. Had to tow it home for this first time :face-icon-small-sad I am surprised that i haven't broken the rear carbonfiber bumper. At the start of the season everyone was worried about it and it seamed like a real issue? By no means am i saying the assualt isn't a great sled, i am just bumbed out it isn't holding up to the abuse like i thought it would.

Other than that the sled is ripping and it is starting to shine in the soft rotten wet snow. All of the sudden the assualt track went from a hinderence to a godsend.

I have broke alot of stuff over the years jumping. both sled and body. keep sending them. Just remeber jumping is the hardest thing on a sled.
if you like to jump you will spend money on broken and bent parts. its life.

I could have told you about those problems after the first week with the sled. You sacrifice strength for lightweight. All the jumpers i know have hose clamped the coolant bottle to the frame, beefed up the running boards, and changed out or adjusted the shocks. The oil tank is an awkward feed to the motor so look for air bubbles when you jump alot. Best premix a little extra oil...

The new chassis is ten times stronger than the dragon chassis an 50 pounds lighter so why are you complaining? Running boards will bend on any sled. Any ski-doo you see has bent running boards.
