unfortunetly you can count on it spreading east.
THe thinking behind this is that if they can track all the ammunition then that information can be used to solve crimes and track illegal purchases. That is someone who's job it is to purchase LARGE amounts of ammo for gangs.

The down side to this as with anything else is the criminals don't care. They will just import the ammo the same as they do the guns and drugs.

How do they know if you went to the shooting range and blasted all the ammo?
