I am trying to track down an area someone told me about northeast of preston? Anyone know of this area that can give directions? I am headed to family down in that area at times and want to bring my sled with me. I am from Twin Falls area and I know the locals from here go to pocatello and then head south on 15 then east to the range?

good snow there! which area ya exactly looking for??

Get a trail map from the gas station down there and head over the hill towards paris or st. Charles!! There is decent snow up there!!

Emigrant summit

There is a big parking lot on top of Emigrant summit on highway 36 it is located between Preston and Montpelier. You can go north or south out of the lot. South is better and will take you into copenhagen, dry basin, green and paris. Trails are marked good with plenty of off trail riding.

Thanks for the response. It looks like they got six inches plus yesterday. Has anyone rode on the east side of Montpelier?

ive rode the east side a lot good there also but not much snow right now
the west side over by paris and bloomington has better snow ever want 2 see the area just pm me we will hook up and go:face-icon-small-coo

Unfortunately, the snow conditions around the bear lake area aren't that great. Certainly ride-able but be careful there still plenty of rocks, stumps, and hard things just under the snow.

The mountains really need another 12-24 inches to make it safe riding off trail.
