Are there any female snowmobilers on here?

I am a beginner and have been on my sled a total of 2 times. My husband has been riding for decades and i will not be at his experience level for years, at the very least, and I'm sure his patience will run out by then ridding with me. ;)

Are there any females on this side like me, and have a young family they will/are riding with (or are not old enough to ride as yet)?

TIA!

i'll help ya

Note: I'm writing under my husband's log on.....I know how it is just getting started.... Glad to hear your riding and enjoying it. There are plenty of women riders on this forum. However, you can always check out the website for women riders at ladiesride.com

Also, ask around about a local sled club in your area. I personally didn't find any more ladies in my area that mountain ride- we'll, two good mountain girl riders that I rarely see.... but I made several other connections and now have a terrific group to ride with. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me on the ladiesride forum under "pwdrali"

Ride safe! :sun:

Yep, what she said above. The ladies ride forum is FULL of great women that will be happy to answer any question, give you tips, and give ya full support!!!! Theres lots of us on snowest but it just easy to go directly to the source!!!!!

Good luck riding!!! Sounds like you'll be hooked in no time!!!!

Another female originally from Wyoming, but now in Colorado....and enjoy the ladies ride forum as well!!!

Im a guy, and I would like to welcome you to the hobby, and give you major props for your fantastic attitude and efforts! Way to go!

My lovely wife and I are working with some similar circumstances, and from my perspective it's exciting to see couples (and families) embrace this sport.

My husband has been riding since 1996 and I just started when we got married almost five years ago. I'm hooked. We live in Montana, south of Missoula. No kids, but definitely take Cowgirl's advice and hook up with the Ladies Ride 4m, there is TONS of support and some super riders, even many gals who do their own wrenching. We'd love to see you there! Lots of gals with kids!

Fluff

Thanks everyone for the welcome! My poor hubby was giving me sour looks all night when I told him I infiltrated his forum! I'll ride on over to the ladies forum - he didn't know if there was one! - and go from there!

Hope to see you on the trails!

Yes, My Wife has been riding with me for the past 10 years. We have two children 2 and 5 that both go with us now ( thanks to the Equinox snowcoach).

We ride the Snowies and Togwotee, where do you ride?

talk ton Nate on here. He's about as close to a woman as you'll find so he can help:D

Houston, we got a problem.
My wife made it perfectly clear to me today that she does not want a sled or to ride anymore.
Dang !
(sorry to hijack this thread)

I don't know what part of Wyoming your from but we ride in Afton sometimes if you are interested in meeting up with us.

I have 2 children 11 and 15 that are both very good riders that go with us almost everywhere we go. We started them out when they were about 2 on a kitty kat and have now just put my 11 yo son on a rmk 800 and my 15 yo daughter on a m1000.

Good luck and pm me if you ever have any questions. I am also on the ladies site and MrsKatKing.

Have fun and be Safe.

BWAHAHAHA!!!

On to the subject at hand.
The wife and I have been boondocking together for 7 years now.
I won't ride without her along.
It can be frustrating at times while you are learning, but just keep at it and you'll be riding everywhere in no time at all.

You are never too young to start snowmobiling.

Well ok maybe like, for the first year you are too young, but as soon as you're old enough to wear warm enough clothes you won't freeze you're old enough to start.

Now this doesn't mean you're gonna be soloing, that usually doesn't come till you're around 4 or so .... but hell , kids love snowmobiling :)

I am a female snowmobiler and have a daughter that is 8 years old. She has been on a sled since she was 4! I ride hard with the boys most of the time but we also do family rides. When Tayler, my kid, was to young to hold on we got a thing from Powermadd that hooks your kid right to you. (Makes good for side hilling.. hehe) Now that she can hold on we got another ting from Powermadd that straps around your middle and has handles on the back. We also give her thoes hand warmer packets and put toe warmers in her boots. It gets cold back there! I hope that you have lots of fun and enjoy the ride!!!:D:D
