Are the rials tiped up on the 2009 m sleds? Need info

I would like to know if the rails are tiped up on the 163 M? Also is the front shock in the rear skid a fox air. If not is there a kit for this. Thanks for any info on this.

No, they are straight. It's a 162. The front shock of the rear suspension is not air, just fox zero pro. I'm sure you could order a FLOAT for it. Both of the shocks on my HOLZ rear are FLOATs. I rode the 09's today.....sweet!

colorado_matt tell us what was so sweet about the new 09's like can you feel a difference in power? wich ones did you ride?

ok....First off, our snow right now is rock hard in the mornings and a little slushy in the afternoon. Not the type of snow I wanted to try them in, but not gonna turn down the chance to ride em cause of the snow. Second I have an 07 M-8 141 and an 07 M-1000 162 so that's what I compared them to. I rode an M-8 and M-1000, both 162 and both sno pro. Most of what I love about them can be added to my sleds like the rear bumper, reverseless diamond drive, 2-wheel kit, powerclaw track, and sharper turning spindles. The track is pretty nice. I'd really like to try it in 3 ft. of powder, nice design though. The new rails are TRICK! We'll see how they hold up to a season of abuse. The engine never came close to stalling while switching from forward to reverse and vise versa, unlike most all of the polaris's I've been around. The adjustable bars are nice, I guess....I'd rather just have them tall all the time, but that's just me. The engines were very smooth and consistant all the way through. The power is very deceiving with how smooth it is. Personally, I'd say in stock form, both pull stronger ALL the way through in comparison to my 07's...when they were stock anyways. The M-8 felt very light and nimble in the front end. This thing would've been a dream in some fluff. The M-8 162 felt ALMOST as nimble as my M-8 141. The 1000 took a lot of effort to steer...when the skis were on the snow! This very well could have been in the suspension settings though. Basically like many others have said, the changes this year result in all of the strengths of the M chasis being even better. The rear suspension felt pretty good on really rough stuff. Much better than my stock 07 suspension, and almost as good as my HOLZ skid. The boss seat is nice....for a factory option on the snow pro. In my opinion, this is by far the best out of the box sled cat has ever put out. That's what I can tell you from the crappy snow we rode in. Can't wait for next season to ride them in GOOD snow.

I also got to ride the 09 cats for a day we had a foot of fresh that day a full tank of gas and i rode the 1000 162 the power was electric just a nice pull anytime, the track is amazing the ballance is sweet especally on the M-8 the M-10 had some nose weight however still nice I ride a rev and will make the switch for next year.
The bars are nice if you get tired out and want to sit a spell you can ,the weight savings are probably the best single thing .The m-8 feels lite .... ,
My wife rides an M-7 and the new 09's are much beter they have profected the M-chasis most importantly a great track nice bars easy to ride and lite .

col mat,

did the 1000 feel as light as your 07 m8

Feel.....no. It's such a huge difference between a M-1000 162 and M-8 141 though. I have removed A LOT of weight off of my M-1000 and I would say that the 09 felt very comparable to it. If I didn't owe so much dang money on my M-1000, I would sell it and replace it with a new M-8 162 and change over all of my lightweight goodies that I could.

col mat, i just wrecked my 1000 and am torn between going with the 8 or sticking with the big 1000 again (2009's).

i have alot of fun on my wifes m8 but i really think i would miss the grunt of the 1000

SO CONFUSED

My opinion of the 1000, is that it has more potential than any other sled on the snow. A dream for anyone that likes and wants to mod, a lot. For me personally, I would happily take a stock 8 over a stock 1000. Hill climbing isn't my favorite thing to do. If it was, I probably wouldn't be talking about the 8. For what and how I ride, I need maximum agility and manuverability. I get by just fine on my 1000, but I have SO much more fun on my 8. To each their own.
