Are rt 1000 good sleds what issues do they have

I had 07 summit x model. Took some time to get it clutched and geared right. Finally delivered the performance I was looking for after adding pipe/heads/reeds, and susp. upgrades. Mine had a fuel pump issue and was prone to ingesting belt dust. With everything dialed in, it was compareable to some 800 pump gas turbos that I ride with. If you buy the sled, and are interested, I still have my pipe/heads/reeds and air filter for sale.

hit dootalk.com and search the mach z forum and use the faq guide. also search the rev summit forum. this should keep you busy for the next week at least. buy one!! i picked mine up recently and it's almost ready to ride.

The only difference is the hills they will climb that a 800 won't :D Just had mine out again, and once again 800 dragon m8 couldn't hold a candle to the RT1000.

No problems at all, and didn't even burn anymore gas then a 800 really. The 06's didn't have really anything that needed to be done, mine just has a can and gears changed and boondocker box, although not really needed.

I wouldn't trade my RT1000 for anything.

I have an 05 and agree 100%. Just bought another one to keep for later on.

I have an 06 Summit X model and the only thing I have done is gear it down some more, have the BRP High Altitude Clutch kit in it and a Dynamo^Joe Helix in it. Other than that it is bone stock and runs great. I was still on my original set of plugs last year and changed them because I was getting worried. Love the sled and have not seen many sleds that can match this performance. It is a bit on the heavy side and will wear you out but is fun. I don't get stuck too often, but when I do it is not fun. I will tell everyone to look at your clutches. I was surprised to see my secondary bushings were worn out so fast. It wasn't hard to rebuild, but was surprised it needed to be done so fast. Right now I have about 750 problem free miles on it. Also, keep an eye on the raves and make sure they are adjusted right.
