are cases, recoil & stator from a 1000 worth anything?

I need a new crank, but Michelle has a whole bottom end for pretty cheap. I'm thinking about just doing the short block & seeing if I can sell the cases, but would it be worth it? It's about 800 more for the whole deal, I'm not sure if the bottom end is worth that. (never tried selling one before)

Any opinions one way or the other? I like the idea of a easy swap, but just not sure.

Yeah, the recoil should sell easy enough, but it's 650 more than just the crank, I just have no idea what a set of used cases are worth. I think stators are pretty pricey as well right?

If you are willing to hold onto it for a while, look on here regularly there is always people looking for parts. There is someone now, 1100cat, that is/was looking for cases. You can $300 for cases pretty easy, stator $200-250, flywheel 200-250. May be able to get 100-150 for your crank.

If you have the money just get the bottom end.

I've got stacks of cash, STACKS. I just need to go in the back bedroom where we store it all (too much to keep it in the living room)

I guess I'll just do it & hope I can get rid of the stuff. I just figure this way I've basically got a new engine, the only thing not new will be one cylinder!

new DD, new shaft, new brake, new motor... crap, I might have to keep this sled for more than my usual 2 year period.

Yeah, after trashing a loaner sled this weekend (borrowed a stock 1000) I've got some extra space in mine as well.

I get to find an 08 ecu, bumper, bellypan...


Actually, does anybody on here have an 08 1000 circle ecu they'd be willing to sell?

I guess I'm just gonna do a short block, if nothing else, just for the security that everything will be new, that's kinda nice.
