Looking at updating my coat and needed some input from those of you who have this jacket. Any inputs such as durability, venting, watertightness, movability, pocket storage, etc. would be much appreciated...thanks!

I am going to give you my honest opinion on Arctiva Gear. I have been riding for years and have gone through some gear. Back when Goretex and like material was non existent. Four years ago I took the plunge and bought Klim Gear, Bibs and Coat. A year later my brother decided to upgrade his gear or so he thought. He did not want to go Klim because he did not want to be a twinkie with me. Lol. So he bought Arctiva. Sweet looking gear but you need to ask yourself do you want use or looks. He road 3 times and the seat of the bibs started to rip at the seams. So I contacted Arctiva for him and no answer 5 emails nothing so he went and bought Klim keep the bibs for a while wrote Arctiva again no answer. So this past year I emailed them again and asked if their customer service was up to snuff to other brands and if they were going to do something about it. They said take it up with the dealer I bought it from. Well since the original purchase 3 years ago they have quit carrying the crap!! So no dice, nothing! So we pitched the junk!! Stay away from it. If you are an easy cruiser maybe it will be ok. But I have sent my stuff back to Klim for repair and/or replace and they have been great. Do I work for Klim? My Friends think I am sponsored!! I wish!! Just good stuff! ARCTIVA GEAR IS JUNK AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTANT!!! Just my .02 or maybe more sorry

I bought the Arctiva Comp 3 bib and jacket this year.
I rode McBride 3 days this year and have done about 200kms trail riding so obviously I can't give you a real durability rating.

Pros:

Comfortable
Durable feeling (Thick, reinforced areas, double/triple stitched)
Good cuts/lengths for maneuverability
Enough inside/outside pockets (large inside pockets)
Lots of cooling vents
Good looking
Warm
Price

Cons:

It's not Klim although I've never used Klim
It doesn't have a collar to provide wind protection on your throat

I probably wouldn't buy the jacket if I didn't have a pair of bibs. I think the bibs are what really helps to keep you warm under the jacket.

I can't comment on customer service as I haven't needed it yet. :beer;

Well I've had my bibs, coat, and gloves for 2 years

I think mine is too warm at times but I don't get cold when down right nasty out, except for my hands. So I bought a pair of mittens and this year I just got a pair of those claws havn't tried them yet. Just my 2 cents

The comp 3 may be hard to find. My son wanted one for christmas, was on order for 5 weeks when they told us we prolly woundn't get one. Sounds like they're going to have a comp 4. Got $ back and boy has a new Klim.:)

The one common in all the threads I have read on this board and others when the topic of gear comes up is Klim. Hands down it is the most popular choice for a reason, it works! I switched this year from castle gear to Klim freerides and the Powercross pullover and the only disappointment I have is I did not do it sooner. If you can afford it get it I say.

Don't worry, that's exactly what I just did. Bought the last year model Klim Valdez Parka...hope I did the right thing. Picked it up for under $300 on ebay in new condition with the tags.

comp clothes

personally i have people in my group that ride hard and wear arctiva i think that pricing for a kid is good because they will just grow out of it anyways:):):):)
