Arctic Cat and the CPSC issued a recall today on 2017–2021 Arctic Cat 8000 and 9000 series snowmobiles and certain VIN range 2022 8000 series snowmobiles due to possible primary clutch failure and hazard. Contact Arctic Cat for more information.

Arctic Cat Recalls Snowmobiles Due to Laceration Hazard

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles, and contact Arctic Cat to schedule for a free installation of an additional clutch guard and inspection of the primary clutch. If the primary clutch is cracked, Arctic Cat will replace it free of charge.

Clutch explosions = BAD!

Had one in a sled and one in my drag car. Neither was good. Destruction O’plenty!

They can do some real damage to your body depending on how they let go.

Yup, I was probably pretty lucky in both. The sled one was brutal. Through the hood and through the belly pan. Everything went quiet and I was trying to figure out where all the spark plugs came from for a hot minute there…..
