Arctic Cat in Trouble

2007ish. Damn, that’s back there.

Has CFMoto been a sponsor of cat racers in the past? Polaris just shared a post to their instagram story and look at the cat in the photo? This foreshadowing anything or like I said, a regular sponsor of a racer..

What are you talking about? There is no bankruptcy. Textron is a $15 billion a year company, they aren't going bankrupt. Arctic Cat is no longer a business, it's a brand that is currently for sale.

I had never really thought too much about this until discussing with a friend over the weekend. He speculated that CF moto would be buying the Intellectual properties or the "brand" While Argo is after the Property and facilities for their own production.

Only time will tell, but I hope someone saves them.

Man why can't they just sell Cat already. I wish we had more info. I never plan to own a cat but I want then in the game... Doo and Polaris has no reason to improve or release anything new besides weight loss.

I really thought we’d hear something by now. New owners or a limited run of 2026 sleds!!
I’d order a 2026 M858 if they’d build some??

Textron put 2 or 3 offers in for Arctic Cat prior to Chris Metz and the board agreeing to sell to Textron in 2015 and start of 2016. There was a lawsuit that Chris Metz and the board acted improperly as the bid kept getting lower as Metz spent more and more cash in 2015 with no recoup. There was something like 12,000 to 16,000 units in dealerships around the world when Textron bought Arctic Cat. That is a pretty insane level of field inventory.

Carry that discussion 10 years into the future (2025). What is the field inventory today and are we to believe the offers to buy Arctic Cat are also getting lower and lower?

They got lower the minute they let a large percentage of staff go in November. It will be a worse offer in May if they let 90-95% of the remaining people go.

There is a bit more IP that has been pursued, but not to the extent that BRP or Polaris has in the last decade.

Inventory for snow is likely fairly low overall, but the dirt product for prowler pro is likely high. They had a ton stacked in the field test track a year or so back. An unhealthy amount parked.

April fools, I’ve seen 4 or 5 different posts today about someone buying cat and it’s been a different buyer every time.
