A buddy of mine tried to tell me Subaru makes the fuel injection systems for Cat. I always though Cat or Suzuki made it. Anyone know the truth? Thanks.

Don't know who for sure makes em but they seem to hold up pretty well. I've never heard of anyone I know personally having to replace one.

it started way back in like 1991 I think, had a battery then, 1999 was the first year of battery less efi

1997 ZR580 had batteryless EFI and I think some mid-year 1996?

Thought Mercury Marine had something to do with development?

thought mikuni developed the fuel injection for cat...i know polaris had it first in the rxl..??..but they could never get the bog out of it..maybe it was polaris that had the mikuni fuel injection..??...regardless cats system has been steller..

I had a 1996 Powder Special with batteryless fuel injection. Might have even been a 1995. Been a great system over the years.

So, Kokusan Denki Co., Ltd. makes it? If so, thanks for the info.

Subaru Industrial Engines, sold worldwide, are manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries in North America and Japan.

They also make Robin engines that are used on generators.
