Apex vs Nytro...All bull aside

I want to know the facts about these two sleds. If they are both built with the same kits (say Alpine) running the same boost with the same octane and are pointed up a hill that neither can go over, which sled will get the highmark?

Do we have enough time on the Nytro's to know?

I'm not asking about handleing, I just want to know which sled can be built to make the highest mark.

Stock sleds with just a turbo, all other things being equal. The Apex will hand the Nytro its arse in deep snow, no questions asked. Match tracks, and then it would get interesting.

I agree, chassis setup is huge, My sled this year with chassis and skid upgrades would destroy my otherwise similar turbo last year. Hills I could barely make last year I can literally air off the top this year. :cool: I have not been on a Nytro Turbo but it also seems guys are running bigger boost on the 4 cylinder. Haven't heard of to many Nytros running 22+ lbs. but guys have been modding the Apex longer as well.

one is for men and the other is for boys

i think guys will be surprised, what another year will see what the nytro will really do once they figure how to run above 18lbs boost right now thats the limit for the nytro do to fuel supply.now that most the kits are out they can play with diff turbos & other go fast things but boost for boost the nytro has been right there or beating the apexs in the drag races so far.:beer;:beer;

My buddy ownes Impulse Turbos and he has been riding his Nytro at 19 pounds the last couple rides and up to 22 lbs if he wants. I had a Apex and am now going to a Nytro. You need to run about 2 lbs more to get equal HP, but put a 174x16x2.5 and a decent skid and the Nytro will take you places you do not want to go back down.

As a non-owner of either and having spent a little time on each, I personally think the Nytro chassis is all that and a bag of chips. I'm coming off a Rev though. Not that there's anything wrong with the Apex. I spent a day on a rental Apex 2 winters ago and had the most fun I had out of any day that year. The Nytro just "fits" me better.

Apex, chassis can handle more HP, but I like the Nytro more

I agree, same track, same rear skid, same amount of boost, I would put my money on the Nytro because it just weights overall less and makes very similar hp numbers with the same amount of boost.

I stand be my original statement about the original question. The weight of the Apex is NOT a liability when boosted. The weight location on the Apex is an asset. Lower and wider. Again I am speaking about "hillclimbs" specifically.

My Nytro reacts to my commands quickly and easily, but at 300hp+ going for a highmark, I would rather be on the Apex.

own both, rode lots on both, and same chassis setups the nitro WILL beat the apex at the same boost. Wouldn't have belived at the start of the year but now I have seen it a few times.
