Apex Timber rear skid Question

Can i run a 5.5" upper skid idler wheels instead of the stock 7". Will it clear the rear shock mount. I know it will clear just by eyeball but at work - what will it do?? Anyone running a 5.5" idler with Timber skid. Mounting holes on drop bracket are stock position.
Will the track slap the top of the shock??

Thanks,
Ryan

I'm running 5.5" wheels with my racer's edge setup. no problems.

I ran the stock 5.1's last year and it only rubbed due to a bent rear arm. After I changed the arm it was fine. I have some 5.3's for this years setup, should be fine and give just a little more clearance. You can always run the 7's. Don't run the track too loose. Even with Avids too much slack can be bad and will cause your drivers to wear and risk spearing a rail. When you see a picture of your sled wheelying at full throttle and see how far out the track balloons, you will run less slack.

I ran the Yammy 5.1's. They still rub even with the upper arm straight. After it bent i sawed my Fox Float down to the eyelet. I talked to Allen about it and he says the best wheel size is the Arctic Cat/Polaris 5.6 wheels with the 25mm(1 inch) bearing. I ordered a set from Royal Distributing since the Yammy idlers are only 5.1. That should take care of the issue.

ran the yammi stocks last season and it rubbed to top of the shock a little. running 5.5's and 8's in the back and it looks like the clearance is much better

Got 5.5" Billets kicking around

The Yami stockers i had on my Apex were 7" - Which obvious will give me clearance - just thought i would use the 5.5" i used on my Cats. So survey sais?? use them or dont use them?? The 5.5's will give the tunnel/track a bit more clearing distance.

Thanks,
Ryan
