apex chaincase breaking

i have a 2007 apex with a 136 track, and was running it on jackstand.checking track adjustment. when i heard a gear on gear grinding with track stopped. i pulled the chaincase apart, and the chain tensioner arm sheared off. this is a cast aluminum hollowed out piece on the inner case which the tensioner rides on. i put back together and strapped a dolly to the track because it wouldnt turn. took to dealer.they fixed it,under warrenty,didnt seam to care how it happened,. said it was the third one they have had this year. anyboby else have this happen. because when this breaks, you are screwed.it cant be towed. track will not spin.

how many miles? if the chain gets loose, and you happen to crack the throttle, the chain will whiplash, and break the tensioner. Got'a keep the chain tightened to spec.

1000 miles and it was tight. i just cant believe how weak the piece is considering how much abuse it gets. i figured all the turbo high hp guys would really have problems.

well if it breaks its not that hard to take the chain out....

Had one break last week but we figured it was because we did not have the chain properly tensioned.

We do not know for sure because we did not bother to check and figure it was a cosly mistake because we were only able to ride the Apex one day of a four day trip.

We hope with proper chain tension that even with the turbo it is a very rare thing to break the chain or the tensioner finger.
