Apex Bearing replacement question

Couple questions on replacing bearings on my Apex, it has 6500 miles with Turbo and been running strong but I thought I should go through the chain case and jack/drive shafts bearings.

Are there any other sources for bearings other then Yamaha? I've found bearings for other sleds for half the price of factory, figured same for Yamaha.

How do you remove the clutch side bearing on the jack shaft? Looks like there is some kind of nut on the inside. Not sure if you need a special tool or a trick to remove it.

Thanks for the help.

there pretty cheap thru yammie...the on that goes behind the speedo sensor is special and we havent been able to find it. New from yammie there like 20 bucks. If you have 6500 miles on that brg you better go buy a lottery ticket.:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-sho

I am a Yami dealer and you should be able to find all the bearings pretty much except the one on the jackshaft with the ring nut. It has a standard OD but the ID is tapered and OEM only. It has to go in the right way and there are tools to do the job properly, but you could probably farm something up. The chaincase are 6205 and leave them sealed. The seals on the chaincase might be a little tricky to find the right width. Good luck. Shad

Search on Ebay. All Balls Racing just posted a bunch of auctions for jackshaft and driveshaft bearing kits for sale. I haven't ever ran these, but maybe they are good???

I think for the money, I will just stick with OEM and not worry about them.JMO

ALL BALLS are chinese bearings and although they do serve a purpose I would never trust them in that application. In a ATV application they might last one third of the time of OEM. JMO

Appreciate the replies...

What about a special tool or trick on removing the nut on the jack shaft bearing on behind the secondary clutch?

I guess I've been lucky on the chain case but I've replaced the chain a couple times, checked the bearings and replaced the oil in the chain case every year with Redline chain oil.

Went to local dealer, Snake River Yamaha, talked to service guys, they looked on their speciality tool wall and low and behold they had the three tools that makes this a simple job. They printed off the service manual instructions with all supplements and all is good for now.

Thanks for the help...
