just looking through the new flyer. they have retracable shovels that would be perfect for sledding for $7 freaking dollars!!! im gonna pick up a bunch!:beer;

If you're an XP rider, check out page 3. They have decent tow ropes that don't take up much space in a pack.

not to bash p auto but some of there stuff is use once and throw away after quality . sounds like an awsome spare shovel for the truck or trailer ,but do you really want to be stuck in the mountains with a broken shovel

better then no shovel but yes your right. ill check them out sometime and see how strong they are....thx

I was at Princess Auto today and saw the shovels. They would make a good shovel for digging out stucks orththe truck but are only plastic so they would be useless if you needed to dig out a budy in an avy. I did buy one of those fancy tow ropes as one of the guys in our group rides an XP;):eek:

He pulls you out lots then??

i bought one last year to keep in the truck and the first time i used it the thing snapped. save your 7 bucks and buy a better shovel.

LOL or not even once! I broke 3 of their pullers once on a magneto before I bought the heavy duty one. The cast ones they had just kept snapping in half! LOL.

I gotta pick up some fittings from them today though, I can look at the shovels and see what I think and let you guys know my opinion, I'm kinda with LID though, better to have a quality shovel.

You only have to ask yourself one question when it comes to safety gear to determine if its appropriate - if you were buried in an avalanche, what would you want the guys digging you out to have?

Ya you guys are right, i do have a good shovel with a saw in it, ill just pass on those.

Those shovels are CRAP! I bought one for each of my sleds last year and the handles both folded in half first day out. Absolute garbage....there's a reason they're only $7. Spend a few bucks and get a decent one. You won't regret it when you need it.:cool:

How good are you gonna feel about the few bucks you might have saved after not being able to dig out your buddy who was caught in an avalanche???
PA's stuff has it's place, but most of it is low quality and chinese built. I would much rather support a local company like SOS and have an item that will function when I need it.

like i said, you guys are right, we dont need 10 people saying the excact thing, save your breath. thx for warning me! i do have a sos shovel. we dont ride in avalanche area's at all. then only thing we use shovels for are for diggin a sled out. and our family had 4 sled at one time and none of them carry shovels(not that they ever need one, they dont get stuck at all and stick to the trail). but once again. thx for warning me!

and i know princess auto is cheap. thats why we all go their. :beer;
