Anyone riding AF canyon this weekend?

Never been down there and thinking about checking it out. Any of you guys riding there on saturday or sunday who wouldn't mind a couple of other people tagging along?

My understanding is they haven't groomed it in 5-6 years because it is so narrow with the rock slides just below Graveyard Flats. Its 5 miles of the worst trail around. Gravel, ice, and monster moguls. Best bet is to drive to midway and trail ride it from there. Those trails are in nice shape and take you to Cascade springs, Cummings Parkway, and down into AF. All of the "Rumored" steep and deep stuff up there is just a lie. there is NOTHING worth getting off of the groomed for...Enjoy the corduroy !

They groomed the bottom 3X this year actually. They said they had a commitment for grooming the bottom every Wed but I talked to the groomer one day and they said if there is any storm they cannot get the groomer over because it is so tough to tow. They groom right down to the narrows and up to the narrows from the bottom. It only leaves about 500 yards of bad trail. Right now it has not been groomed once sincee 1/16 and the trail is the worst I have ever seen

X2!

Haven't been up there yet this year, but normally ride that area almost exclusively.

I think he was trying to keep people out. Either that or he is smoking something because the deepest snow in the state is at the top of AF since the big storm

I would never be so presumtious as to tell someone where they could or could not ride... i am just trying to highlight the excellent trail riding opportunities in the area erstwhile maintaining the scarce powder stashes for those of us who are willing to brave the horrible trail into Dry Fork... But honestly... its an out of the way area with poor parking, no views, no snow, poor trails, and really NO REASON WHATSOEVER THAT ANY SANE PERSON WOULD WANT TO DESTROY THEIR EQUIPMENT BY VENTURING INTO THE AREA...

I think your sarcasm meter is broken. I only like to ride groomed trails anyways (as you can tell from the pics I've posted) so I'll be avoiding AF canyon.

Part of my great love for Dry Fork is that even if people knewwhere it was Bloody Gulch keeps 95% of them out. I have seen two other sleds in there this year outside our group and probably ten last year all year. Anyway its not even worth the rough trail and rock strewn chute because there isn't any thing up there to ride and there surely isn't any snow
