anyone rent sleds or go on sled tour in Vail,Colorado?, going there in december and n

hey guys, need some advice. my wife and I are going to Vail, Colorado in December and we want to rent sleds out there, I have 2 choices that I can see, either rent the sleds and ride on my own or go with a guided tour, not sure what to do. looking to see if anyone has been there and rented sleds or gone on any of these tours, any feedback would be great, thanks, Ron

the two that come to my mind are

Piney River Adventures - they ride right out of vail, about a mile or 2 from the gondola. they do guided tours in an amazing area, and I have been told that they offer powder tours that would allow you to get off the beaten path and do some good riding

Nova Guides - located in camp hale, about a 30 min drive from vail offers guided and in the past unguided snowmobile rentals, did not see the unguided option on their website. They ride in a busy area that is segregated into little areas some you can ride in others you can not.

I know Piney offers transportation and I think Nova does as well. I live in vail so if you have any questions about where to stay, eat, drink, ride whatever just shoot me a pm.

if it makes any difference I try to ride vail pass, where nova operates, as little as possible

also, a tour is a good way not to get lost in the woods with your wife, that would suck, it would be difficult to get lost but it could get bad easily if the weather changed on you and alot of these areas are in avy danger. I have been around many groups from these tours so shoot me a pm w/ any questions.
