Anyone Play with their RAVE valves?

Just curious to see who adjusts them and how much/often? I have never really messed with them that much, just curious to see what you guys do. Do you crank them up as you change elevation or leave them pretty much stock from the factory? Anybody seen any noticeable gain from adjusting them? I have felt a slight increase in the past, but it could have been in my head as well.

They do bounce a bit. If you pull them right out, sometimes on a dyno you will make more power.

A guy could try adjusting them out. should make more power but the bottom end might fall off as you screw em out.

Thanks PG. That was always my understanding, cranked right in makes them open earliest, giving the most torque. Was taught that as you go up, to keep cranking them in. Wanted to see if someone had tried to measure any differences.

So why are summits springs softer then mxz springs???
When you crank the caps IN the raves open later creating more low end and OUT opens earlier helping with top end.
BJ's kits consist of a much harder spring.

bingo

I would think you want em out the higher you go up. less hp = less pressure to open them. 06 and up they are controlled by the computer to some extent

i've always understood that as you go up in elevation, you want to turn them out, due to less atmospheric (thus pipe) pressure..

out = less spring pressure on the valve
in = more spring pressure on the valve

it would require more RPMs/throttle to push the valve out/open at a higher elevation with the same spring tension.

i run mine out as far as I can go w/o having the red cap pop off during use. >< yep its happened. lol
