Anyone know conditions on Hood?

One thing to keep in mind, the "parts" stores won't be open until Tuesday.

Have fun. Probably riding Ray Benson tomorrow.

rode out of frog lake on monday out towards bonney medows, actually wasnt all that bad, enough snow, there was some powder if you got off the trails, only made it about 15miles from frog lake parking lot before the bars broke off my buddies sled but still rode from about 10:30 to 3pm, didnt rain once and stayed around 39*, 5 minutes down the road on the way home the rain started :face-icon-small-coo

Was up at Skyline today with the gf and it is getting SPARSE! What's with the logging going on over there and road closures? Oh well, need some more clearing as thick as the trees were getting in that area!

Have FUN!

Was at Bennet yesterday, it was actually pretty good (for this season). Must have been a couple of inches overnight. I dug out the traverse a little, it'll be ok 'till the next storm. A lot of snow bikes boondocking WAY too close to the snopark for a weekend. Enjoy that one while you can, it'll be closed soon :face-icon-small-dis

Was the trails bare in spots? Have a lot of the trails been shut down from the logging? Are their still a lot of trails open?

You get any dirty looks from the hikers and skiers lol. About how many miles of trails are open at Bennet? Is there a map online. We went there in December but I never had a chance to get out very far on my sled since we ran into some over heating issues.

The main road out is closed because of logging truck traffic but they bulldozed a "snowmobile" path that cuts over to the intersection of the road that goes to High Rocks and the road down to Timothy Lake dam. The bulldozed path is really beat up and you can't get much speed to keep the sleds cooled down. No wonder everyone was at Frog Lake on Saturday! There were some bare spots but not too bad. Temps got a lot warmer yesterday so I'm sure it's worse now. I'm not planning on heading back until we get more snow and, even then, I'm probably done with Hood this year. Adams is the place to be for more advanced riding. Even the beginner stuff there is far better than on Hood. Just need more snow!

There will always be dirty looks on the weekends though I had no issues. Another local I ran into up at Bonney said a snowshoer physically blocked the trail then told him he couldn't be there, all while his wife was telling him "honey, your wrong, it did say shared corridor":nono:. I have had to point people towards the signs before.

Spencer I bet there are maps online and I would estimate 20ish miles accessible so far. It's not a great place for trail riding even now, great for tight trees riding though with plenty of stuff in a ways well away from the snowpark. No need to be breaking the law right next to the snowpark within sight of every other user group that already hates us :face-icon-small-dis

A couple of thin spots in the first five miles and you do gain 1500+ vertical on the trail in tight trees. Not a lot of snow gets in there unless there's new so scratchers are handy.

Looks like it might be decent this weekend anyone going to be up there? I think we're going to hit skyline on Sunday.

Got my first taste of Adams yesterday, it will be hard to accept less after that:face-icon-small-ton, Don't think I'd go on a weekend though. Looks like we are in for snow everywhere with Tuesday being probably best. Anyone wanting to go Mon. or Tues. shoot me a PM. Other wise I will probably be at Bennet, possibly even Sunday depending on how much Meadows gets...

Why not Adams on weekends? You don't have to deal with all the skier traffic on Hood and far better riding. I can probably make it out on Monday but would only go to Snow King/Smith Butte on Adams as that's where it's at!

Let me know,

I was boarding at meadows this morning, 12+ inches. Went sledding out 44 and it was horrible. I had more snow at my house. Somehow the East Ridge was missed. Probably better to the south though.

It was pushing over my hood at Bennet, still feeling the bottom but won't take much more. Dug out the traverse some more, as long as the temps stay down getting through will be no problem. One other car in the lot at 9am, when I got back around 1:30 it was completely full:face-icon-small-sho. Only three rigs with sleds though. Definitely going (somewhere) the next three days.

Adams anyone?

Went to Adams today. Wasn't much snow down low and icy. But once you get up high there was 15-20" of new stuff....and much more to come this week.

That's good to hear. I didn't go the other day because I thought it would be tough with all that wind. Were you able to get out to Bonney?

Went up to CC this afternoon and it was deeper than s$!t. Had a blast boarding and sledding!

I was thinking about Adams on Wednesday.

Shane thanks for the Adams report, would like to go again tomorrow. Wonder how on it they are with the plowing to any of those snoparks though, it was already like 10 miles of trail to get to the good stuff from past Smith Butte.

I'm headed up to Bennet today at some point, can't decide if I should wait a little while for more to accumulate, only 9" overnight with more than that forecasted for today. Unless Pownar wants to let slip what CC is. Pretty sure but can't figure where you'd park??
