Anyone have tested the Team TIED on their machine yet ?

I know it's early in the season yet but I'm looking for some updates from people who bought the Team Tied Secondary Clutch.

Does it perform as good as they're advertising it ?
(Instant Back Shift, Improved Upshift, Cooler Running, Increased Belt Life, No Engine Reverse Clunk, Unrivaled Torque Sensing, Helix Angles Typically 14˚ Higher Than TSS-04, Greater Efficiency Allows Lower Spring Rates, Higher Top End Speed Capability...)

Thanks a lot.

I have one on my mountain IQR and it performs a lot better than my TSS-04 did. Much better backshift, and what seems to be cooler belt temps and clutch temps. I'm very pleased with it so far. When I jump down into a creek or hole with deep, wet snow, the backshift is instant and I maintain peak RPMs.

I have been testing with a Tied. It is on a 2008 700 Dragon. They recommend to have +14* over your known good TSS-04 setup, but at the same time, they sent me a 77/57 helix that is +21/15 more than stock. I destroyed a belt in no time (stock clutch the belt lasted 1200 miles). I am presently waiting for a 70/57 helix from Team. I am fairly confident that with the proper +14* helix in the Tied it will work very well. I will post as I know more.

Got a little under 10 rides on my tied now..

Backshift improvement yes.
Improved Upshift I believe so, it appears to be working where my stock setup failed.
Cooler Running YES, It's cool to touch even after back to back hill climbs in powder
Increased belt life - Don't know never had belt issues.
No Engine Reverse Clunk - Yes
REst of the stuff unknown. I didn't have a TSS.

(on a 07 rev 151 800r)

Anyone out there running one on a 09 D8 with a 163? Just wondering what they are running for a set up.

Ok 14 degrees on the helix but whats the spring conversion?????if Im currently runnng a black orange?????

Do not know about a conversion chart but I was told you are supposed to be able to run a lighter spring. I am using the red/dark blue in mine right now. Have had to go with a little lighter primary weights and using the more aggressive cut on the helix I have but thinking maybe need to go a little heavier spring. Still toying with it.

just spoke with Goodwin and they say use the same spring as in the Tss04 or one with a slightly softer finish

Mtnclimber, I am using the Team red/black (140/240) It is the same spring that is in my TSS-04 clutch. Once I get the new 70/57 helix I will probably play with various springs to see what the net results are.

I have NOT changed anything in my primary clutch, for two reasons.
1) it worked very well with the TSS-04
2) With it unchanged, the new Tied secondary is the only new variable.
(because we ALWAYS ONLY change ONE thing at a time) right??? ;)

Ps; I looked at the Goodwin conversion chart.(Thanks BTW)
but......???? I don't buy it! the numbers are way too high from what my testing & results have shown.

if this clutch works anything like a pargon it will not work properly with out primary changes, i had to go very light on primary spring to get it to really pull and not shred belts.

Well I just got mine and put it on, havent had a chance to run it yet though. I will be running a 73/57 on mine. Slp told me to use a red/dark blue spring and team told me to run a red/black spring so I got both and figured I would try the lightest, the red/dark blue first and go from there.

So far I have been running a 60/38 in my tss 04 with a black/purple spring on my 08 d7 with slp performace edition kit so I am excited to see if this new clutch will be a improvement

For whatever it's worth - on your primary spring, try around a 260# finish with whatever start you like and clutch around that. Obviously there is a variable here depending on your track size / helix finish angle etc. It's all about balance.
You might be surprised!

Makes me glad I didn't buy the Team Tied right away like I was planning. I'll wait until next year while Team gets all you people to R&D their product.

I tried to get some set up info from Team, but no dice. You just have to buy a mitt full of springs and crap, and you are on your own. I started adding that up and all of a sudden that Tied Team was an expensive secondary!

Wonder why Team doesn't know what set up to use ... Weird stuff going on!

my brother and i have them on our 900 polaris's and the back shift is awesome alot more engine braking. upshift is smooth a noticiable improvement over the standard team. yes it takes some dialing in might want to wait a bit till things get figured out if you dont like tuning your self.

as stated before it seems you have to go one weight lower in the pimary with it because it is so aggressive on upshift.

Still happy with mine, sled is for the most part running like a champ. Got a little motor bog that I need to chase but no complaints with the clutching. I can get the full rpm range, and backshifts just fine. Clutches don't get hot, and I'm not all vented out. Just removed the dust cover.

Are you getting more track speed with the tied brahm.
Also Do you feel like it pulls harder when accelerating or about the same as the 04 team?

Mine certainly feels like it is pulling harder through the bottom end...seems to get better starts. I still have not figured it out completely tho....top end seems to die out. I get about 62 mph with the tied. Switch back to the other secondary and it will do 74 mph...no other changes. I have tried lighter weights with the tied but has not made any noticable difference. Pulling 8050 to 8100 mostly, sometimes to 8200 RPM's at 7000 to 8000 feet in elevation using 65.5 gram weights.
