anyone have an older wife/girlfriend?

My wife was 6 years older than me. She informed me that she was leaving me last Sunday, when I got home from riding! Never gave me an acceptable reason, sad thing is, we have a awesome 3 year old little boy!:(
sorry to hear that pj, hope things work out if not...you still have a great son to share life with..went thru the same thing about 3 and a half yrs ago..was a family for 16 yrs..she decided partying was better then family..her loss...keep your head up big guy...

Wow! If you're 27, he must REALLY be young!

[boys, take notice of the smoothness of that comment] ;)

Very SMOOTH there Pete!! ;) :)

Jesse (sp?).....you NEED to have your life figured out before you make any decisions you might regret down the road (I'm going off of your other thread with this as well). Sometimes things can look better because you've been together with someone for so long, that you get into a rut, and then someone else happens along that you have no responsibilities with. That makes a false sense of things being better than they might actually be if you were together for a period of time. I've seen this a lot through the years with different peeps.

I knew my hubby for awhile before we hooked up. We were casual friends (and I was friends with his parents), and on our local ambulance together. We had a lot of EMS training together, as well as ambulance calls, so we got to REALLY see how the other reacted to a variety of situations.

As for age.....both legal. ;) If you want to PM or email me, that'd be fine. :)

Man I'm sorry to hear that. That is the toughest stuff.

thats what i wanted to hear!! thanks for responding.. how old were you guys when you met or actually got together?

btw, this post is imperative to my life.. im trying to figure some very serious sh!t out..

Come on Jesse,, lets relax on the whole I met a perfect peson, granted I don't know the whole story but. You married your wife for a reason, not an age thing. Be thankfull for what you have...

I am 41 my wife is 64 soooo what? the age really doesn't matter:mad:

so what if her daughter is 2 years younger than me and still lives at home! so what if my wife is in bed at 9 pm and my daughter stays out until midnight, and I have to drive her home????? I am really concerned she gets home and in BED on time! it's all GOOD:) the retirement check still pays the same!

You people are so hypocritical sometimes!

Both of ya fill out a few of the "online dating" profiles. They're either free or cheap and with 29 dimensions of compatability being checked for you it should be evident if the age thing (or anything else) is gonna be a problem.

Got a buddy thats a marriage counselor that has a few tests he'll have people do to determine if he'll even try to help them work things out. He has said lots of times its too bad people don't do these before marriage. There are times that he will suggest they not waste $$ on counseling if he feels they just wont be compatible. He'll help them work through a divorce as friendly as possible and in the kids best interest if there are any.

Kelly and I took his tests and the only thing we had in common was our need for my spare time. lol. We really didn't match up on paper for what its worth, but I've loved her everyday (and as many nights as I could) for almost 18 years. I do think the tests/screenings are a good initial indicator.

Another option....I have a buddy who has been a bachelor most of his life, he claims he has discovered something you can do in the shower with a bar of soap that will make women obsolete...........I'll have him send ya a pm with details. LMFAO.

Good luck man, seriously, that fact that your looking into this tells me you'll come to the right decision. Have some fun with figuring it out. EW

When I was 19, I had a 32 year old gf...At the time thought how grown-up I was, and age was just a number, blah, blah, blah...Im nearly 35 now...she'd almost be 50 and the thought of that really would be a deal breaker now...Enjoy the ride- good place to visit but not to live...

Ditto! I dated a girl who was 17 years older than me... I was 22, she was 39. I was old enough to date her daughter. lol It was a great time, but not someone i'd like to spend the rest of my life with. It was kinda like the Stiffler's Mom deal.

Depending on the difference, you gotta conisder that she has already done all those things in life you want to do. I guess it's hard to explain. Anyhoo... best of luck to ya and make sure to post pics.:face-icon-small-hap

it's true man you did get married for a reason...only you know why you did.

I think Eric W maybe on to something with the 29 levels deal.

Sad to hear that Ralph.:(

My wife is six years older than me and we've been married 15 years.. Its been a good marriage for the most part, but every marriage has issues at some point.. I think there has to be in order for a marriage to work out.. My first wife and I never fought and only lasted three years.. I think most people can make it work no matter the age as long as both want it to..

CatWoman is my wife and to be honest it has been the best years of my life with her..I have had 15 years of bliss and she is 12 years older than I...but I love every moment of the age difference!! She has taught me alot in the "retard, I am a sniveling brat, category"!! We do alot and when I say alot I mean alot of stuff together!!! She is my soul mate and we have a history together! We both love EMS,floating,sleddin,fishing,hunting,shooting,cars,ect.... and that is what brought us together!! To have a relationship that works, you have to have things in common or.. you will just be fighting the inevitable! You have to have give and take. Point blank.....you have to want to be with her...period!!

I've always dated younger guys. With one exception. Hubby was 4 years younger and we had a great relationship. Last BF was 5 years younger than me, but his immaturity has/is really showing.

At what age does a woman dating a younger man make her a cougar? I'm coming up on the big 40 (can't wait, one of my best friends has the same b-day and we're having a big shin dig. Theme is "40 never looked so good"), and am wondering if that makes me a cougar if a date a young'un.

my bro in law is married to a chick 11 years older ...was all fun and games early ...they just scrap .....shes a coug and is proud of it

Wife(common-law)is 8 years older than my 38and we've been together 11 years now, raised her 2 sons and I'm happier than a pig in ****!!The experience and maturity level is the best.

This is the point I was attempting to make on the phone the other night. Like we talked man, it took some time but it straightened out, my head cleared and it was all for the better. Your situation is different, I give you that. Jess, just don't be rash. And I pray she doesn't frequent this site. Unless you want her to.
