Anyone have a broken down Pellet stove???

Pulled a good one tonight and broke the dam glass on my Whitfield pellet stove, there has to be a broken one laying around the country somewhere with a good piece of glass in it??? It's a Whitfield Advantage III.

Cant order a peice of glass from a stove shop or good glass shop???

If only it were that easy..... I picked the most expensive one to break. It's got 2 bends in it so not just any piece of glass will work.

off the subject a bit but i'm just buying a pellet stove it's a doulet i think but is yours thermostat and if so what wires to the controller?and any other stuff you can tell me about the stoves in general like fresh air kits?thanks

I have it hooked to regular thermostat like you'd use with a furnace, I'd have to take it apart to see what wires go where. The book for the thermostat should tell you which 2 wires go where.

I don't use a fresh air intake kit, it's far enough away from the wall that it gets plenty of air.

thanks is it small wire or 14 guage?and away from the wall? is it a deal with heat to air or what? i'm really wierded out!1 saying fresh air intake to the stove?

I just used a real small speaker wire for the thermostat. If your are mounting it really close to a wall, the back of the stove, you might want to consider piping in fresh air to the intake pipe. I've got mine about 6" from the wall and it's gets plenty of air. I doubt that cold outside air would make any difference and that's just another hole to drill.

$400+ plus, yep that's why I was looking for a used one. The local dealer here made me a heck of a deal on a new one so I've got one coming. There is A LOT of markup on those parts.
