That's exactly the point!! Living down here you normally don't need to chase the snow-it just arrives at your front door step, hence the reason I moved here and have stayed here as long as I have. I guess we are just spoiled in this part of the state and take it for granted that Wolf Creek will consistently get 450" every winter.

I wish I had the time off to chase snow, but unfortunately I have a full time job, a wife and other obligations, which I guess makes me a weekend warrior.

He is full of chit

Yeah... I rode again last Sunday, bluebird day, fresh tracks....

I'll just keep riding while you rocket scientists keep typing....

BTW, referring to me as a "lippie hippie" is not only grossly inaccurate but, could also cause you to have a problem you are not equipped to handle should you try that in person. Of course this is mostly directed toward the moron from Olathe that drove to Barlow last weekend, how stupid was that?

Where have been riding at that has decent snow Ouraysledder? Not trying to poach any of your secret spots, but if you don't mind giving a general direction. I don't often make it up to the Ouray area, if that's where you're from, to go snowmobiling. I know that the northern San Juan Mts. have been doing a little better for snowfall this year than the south. It's just a lot of driving, over 3 mountain passes, to get up to that neck of the woods. Not that I'm not willing to drive for better snow, I went up to Winter Park after New Years-it was the last time I got to do some powder riding.

Right now the problem is the pass being closed... You can get to Moals and Red but I would have to go the long way around, and that isn't going to happen if the snow is as bad as you guys say it is.

I have just been riding Owl creek outside of Ridgway. The east side of the valley still has plenty of nice deep pockets of snow hidden up in there. It means navigating some nasty drainages to access it but every weekend I find a couple more untouched spots to play in. We haven't even gone down the road to check the other two canyons yet.

Snowed last night.... not enough but, the Feb snows will come, they always do.

That's a beautiful looking area, but everything around Ouray/Ridgeway is pretty awesome looking. Looks like the snow up there is holding up a lot better than it is down here. I forgot that Red Mountain has been closed now for the last 2-3 weeks due to the rock slide. That definitely makes it a lot harder to get up there.

Cause I am chasing snow!

Not sitting waiting for it to be delivered to my front door.

There is good snow just maybe not in your normal spot. I love it enough to put the time and effort into finding it and have been rewarded greatly for it.

This has been the best winter in years for powder days. Not the best for SOCO...but thats what trucks and trailers are for.

Yeah Yeah January is just never the month for me to travel as much as I would like to. Work and being a single parent makes it tough. Soon though !

Today at Wolf Creek

best snow ever? No...but plenty of fresh lines in the trees and deep enough to get stuck.

I just got done watching some ufc fights, if you two want to"GET IT ON" while we wait for more snow. I will host the fight at my gym and sell the video rights to snowest. Then I would be able to go to Tudizzles spots. :face-icon-small-sho

Just heard a forecast for the west elks and central mountians to get up to 30" out of this up coming storm. Fingers are crossed!

Ouray sledder, i have ridden owl creek and red mountian stuff out of silverton. I grew up in Ridgway, and those are world class ridding spots. The best day I have ever had on a sled was up California gulth and hurricane pass. I havent ridden them in several years, mainly due to the normal guys I ride with aren't interested in going to the big hills.

So the cheap shot I hit you with is unlike the way I typically handle myself. But it hit me wrong that you continuily talk smack about other ridding areas that guys go to around here.

With that said if your into fist o cuffs, ill be sure to pack a lunch or my hotdogger if im going ridding.

Keep the pics coming, that is some killer country!

Well I do not typically take those shots either, though I DESPISE riding Barlow. I have tried several times, I would never bother going back. When somebody calls me a lippy hippy, especially someone who grew up in Ridgway of all places, hippy capital of SoCo, I take some offense as well.

You wouldn't need lunch, it wouldn't take me long.... The real problem seems to be Mancos boy with 13k peaks in his back yard.

Come on down this spring. We usually make a couple trips into Animas. This was last spring...

Whatever.its obvious that you do not know the area around me at all.and seems like you are happy up in your own neck of the woods.I'm sure we will meet someday on the hill, you better hope you are not broke down or outta gas cuz you didn't make any new friends in these two threads.

I would like to take you up on the offer, cause those sleds were new the last time I was there on a sled. That was two sleds ago for me. My Dad was the only one that would go up there, and now he isnt sledding anymore.

Have you guys ridden up Middle Fork or East Fork above silver jack? I have always wanted to just havent got to it yet.
