Anyone do a 155 peak track on a pro this year.

yeah, i was talking about the powder claw. very impressed. you only have to do the chaincase mod if you run 7 tooth drivers. but to clear the 3.0 pitch 2.6 PC you have to run 7 tooth drivers. but is the 13 have any changes to it that avoid having to do this mod? not sure yet, but if i had to guess i would count on having to do it. the CE is a BA track also. had one on my 797 144 mod and loved it.

Camo Extreme 2.5 with 2.86 pitch should run under a stock tunnel and chaincase with stock drivers I would think since the stock track is a 2.4. It does on the Dragons (wife's 08 700 and my 08 800). D&R would make more room for snow to clear the tunnel but even without that, the camo x is a superior track to stock... my opinion is the only people who are happy with the stock 5.1 series track are people who quit riding the minute the snow starts getting a little crust on it. Or stay off the steep. Around here some of us don't quit riding until June or so.

I realize you need to do the chaincase mod on the current pros, but was questioning if that section of the chaincase that gets the relief cut into it, is even there on the belt drive versions. You may not even have a contact issue between a 7 tooth driver and "chaincase" on the belt drive.

I like the "New" camo Extreme ... 9174 / 9175... lighter than the "original" extreme... And Noticeably better in lighter pow than the Original.

As for the PEAK Track... I've found it to be an excellent track BUT... it DOES need to be broken in like NewTrout said... after that.. it downright shines.

Mountainhorse, are you running the Peak track?

If so, have you had any problems with it loosing lugs fast?

Peak experience

I put a peak on this year.
I am very impressed with it.
We had some deep days where stock 12 163's would be getting stuck and I was not. I went back and forth between my 11 with 5.1 and 12 with peak.
The peak performs much better in pow and hard pack.
I have 1200 miles on the peak and it looks brand new.
My 11 pro with 5.1 now has 2k miles and is starting to come apart.

Had it for 600 miles of use... then I sold the sled...

I'll prob be running it again next sled...

No problems with the lugs coming off but I was surprised at the amount of time to "break it in" though... IMO... it is a great track in many diff conditions.

Are you having lug probs?

I dont know what to really call it???

I think that the rubber becomes easier to bend... It doesnt get softer... so HMMM... Good question.

You can run 7 tooth drivers on the 2013 without changing anything else. The belt drive doesn't protrude into the tunnel

I am not running a Peak, yet. But I am considering it and I remember reading a comment a while back about someone that lost lugs very fast.

But I guess one could tear apart any track in no time if the abuse is hard enough.

Anyway, I think it will work better for allround riding than my Assault competition track which now is ready to be changed out.

I ran one for 600 or so miles earlier in the season. Engine wise, my sled was bone stock and struggled to achieve track speed. I ride 9000-12000 feet elevation, so horsepower is a big issue. Between this and our snow conditions(went from super deep and fluffy to sugar) I never got to see the benefits of the track in the 'broke in' state previously mentioned. Due to self inflicted abuse, I did have a lot of torn lugs. I avoid getting stuck at all costs possible and have a tendency to find traction on a lot of stumps and down trees. As a fair comparison, I also tore lugs on the next 2 tracks I installed........ maybe a me problem!

Now I have installed a new Peak track. My sled also makes 200+ horsepower at elevation now thanks to a BoonDocker turbo :) I believe the upside potential of this track is huge, otherwise I wouldn't be trying it. Here is a photo of it on my sled. As I get more rides on it this spring, I will continue reporting my findings and experience.

if this is the case, then this is really cool. no warranty issues. but i need to find out how much of a change there actually in with the new PC. one of my cat buddies says it is only slightly larger, not a full .35 of an inch. but the CE is still a possible option...
