Any riding around Lake Wenatchee?

thanks for the heads up on the corners. My eyes DO get too big for my appetite sometimes. Boy do I love those corners.

Will be up there the last 2 weeks of December with a group of 20.

Just stay away during Christmas break!!

You mean after 10:00 a.m. when the perfectly smooth groomed trail is torn to s*#! every day. You also forgot to mention the large groups who choose to park on the trail completely blocking the road since they are too scared to pull over in a wide spot..usually after the sharp corners.... It must be some sort of ambush for the beer drinkin throttle jockey coming around the corner on the wrong side of the road looking back at his buddies he just passed. Oh ya, good times....

Don't forget the fly-bys at 80 plus while waiting along trails. I'm usually impressed  After the break it's a great family play area with great trails. For boondocking and climbing it's near the bottom of my list.

Wow, you guys are awfull critical of the best groomed riding area in the state for famlies. I've seen them groom 3 times a week but I think normally just twice.

No, there are no real death defying pulls (unless you know where they are and how to get to them);)

As far as boondocking goes I think there's about as much as any other place around? Have you done a lot of exploring up top around the backside of Sugarloaf Lookout? TONS of scattered tree'd areas there for the picking but yes the trail up to that play area get's REAL hammered by Saturday afternoon.

There are miles of terrain to explore between french corral (Not sure of that name) and Ardenvoir. I've only scratched the surface of the boondocking possibilities around that area.

Yes it's a very popular place because of the first rate signage and grooming by both the state and the local clubs. Hands down the best place to take your family.

When you see the morons that infect all the areas with their careless, dangerous riding on the trails do you ever catch them and try to reason with them about the safety on the trails and that a lot of families are out there sharing the trails with them or at least wave them to slow down?
Try to, It will help us all.

I ride there a lot because it's close and convienient for me and my family and I appreciate the work they do to keep that place as smooth as possible for the amount of people that use it. I think they have the most miles of groomed trails of any place in the state if memory serves me right.

This is looking towards Ardenvior and Chelan from Sugarloaf Lookout.
Tell me there's no boondocking on those hills!:D

Nice pic! Got anymore? I have to give it to you.. I think that area has much better opportunity for viewing..... looking out across the country. Good stuff!

I'll confess, most of the pictures I took that day were of my sled!
I do have a couple more scenic shots but I'm stuck with dial up so it takes a ton of time but I'm working on it.:D

ouch... you want to just print them off and mail them instead?:p

It is a beautiful area though. Not much opportunity to see out to the valley like that from most areas that I ride.... Makes me want to sprout some wings and fly out into the vastness....

I assume the snow changes similar to the wet side riding? Or is it mostly blower over there from top to bottom elevation? I assume it still changes in depth based upon elevation though..

You forgot the group giving you the evil eye and talking smack for driving around the group of slackers parked in the middle of the trail drinking beer and tossing the cans.

Pretty much the same damp snow but with the Eastern Washington terrain.
Trees spaced farther apart, less undergrowth = better cruisin' thru the trees :D

Sometimes it's a little lighter snow, especially up high.
Definately colder.

If you read what a posted I said during the Christmas break is bad, other than that it's what you said, a good family riding area. I have a place there and the only time I get ran off the trails is between Christmas and New Years.

There is a lot of secret spots up there, you just have to know where they are and how to get there. You might have to go off the trail to find them. Would that be alright with you. Some spots you might have to sidehill. You might have to stand up once and a while. Most spots off trail you probably need at least an Articat 500 or probably a Polaris 700 or 800. Carry plenty of gas, the trails are long.
