Any Polaris guys like the Proclimb?

I've ridden both, and will be getting a 2013 pro for the 3rd season in a row. My close buddy is a cat dealer and is sitting on 10 proclimb 8 right now. He is begging me to take one off his hands at a $1k loss (dealer cost, rebate, holdback, $1k loss).

I also rode a Proclimb 1100T and for my riding style (tight tree covered sidehills and mixed terrain) I was not impressed. If You are a straight up hillclimber then its great but otherwise not so much. Its also really lame dumping your oil into your air filter every time you roll the sled.

I haven't had a chance to try the PC800 but another friend of mine has one so maybe I'll get to ride it before the snow melts.

Ive rode both and really like both but havnt had the proclimb in the trees on a steep hill to see how it truely performs. But i will comment on how well the power felt on the proclimb800 closest thing ive felt powerwise to my mod 700cfi and my buddies 840 damn impressive for stock. I really had my heart set on a pc8 but then i rode a pro rmk and i really had a hard time finishing the day out on my dragon. Both sleds are awsome love the looks of my buddies pc8 with dimond s hood it looks so mean but the way the pro rmk handles i dont care what it looks like or how much power it has i never leave anything stock anyway.

I own both. I like them both. The Pro/Assault is lighter, but with less power. I think it is more "flickable!" The ProClimb/HCR has more power and is heavier, but rides lighter than it is, IMO. I've spent a lot more time on the Pro chassis, 1 1/2 years now, with 2 sleds. My ProClimb is new and still breaking it in, due to recovering from surgery and crap for snow in the Western US.

The pro rmk is a very sweet sled, its rider position and skinny side panels make it feel really comfortable similar to the older M's and is the reason it feels at home with a lot of older M riders. It lays over nice and is really predictable in slow off camber situation.

I think most this is due to the good coil over, same reason it feels so light (first few inches you lift you have spring help) but its obviously lighter, but i just dont see 10-30 pounds being that noticeable on a 500+ sled. But totally agree they are lighter!

The pro climbs suspension is the future, its obvious when you think about it how much less leverage/force is on every joint/connection with that tall of spindle. Although i dont know how well it will fit into the mountain segement it sure makes the sled whip around really fast, the spindle is a big deal in off camber handlin and directly effects how the sled lays over, it wants to J hook fast and requires the rider to react fast or he will be pointing right back up the tracks he was going down..
It took me a while im at over 600 miles and ive got the honey spots/body positions figured out for this chassis now and im loving it!

I have ridden several pro rmk's and i lovem. They work!

If the belt drive proves reliable you might see me on one, but as a guy having problems with one belt i can hardly risk two till i know they work!! :)

Plus maybe by 2014, theyll make a motor that is unarguably reliable and powerful!

I rode with a guy a couple weeks ago that was on one of the new 1100T's. One of his first experiences with the machine was at Mt Bachelor and rolled it on a hill, oil spilled onto the exhaust somehow and caught the sled on fire. He had to have the right panel replaced. On the ride I was with him on, he was trying to adjust his handlebars into a better position, so when he turned the bar would be in his nuts, his left hand throttle cable had some tension on it... He started the sled and it took off into a tree bending the lower and upper control arms on the right side, and pushing the right panel into contact with the muffler.

Granted AC had nothing to do with left handed throttle stuck into the tree, the bar position of those sleds just plain sucks.

i have not ridden the pro climb but that zuki motor is pretty damn reliable. i still have my concerns with the poo motors and the etec.

no two stroke is "reliable". They all have hand grenages inside them waiting for you to pull the pin.

The way the snow has been this year, at least in Montana, front end diving is very common. Even my Pro wants to do it. If you aren't paying attention even in a low speed turn, your ski will dive and you're stuck. No base, sugary bottom, crusty layers in between, and not enough fresh pow.

It is the same here in Colorado. My Pro, Proclimb and Tapex ALL dive. The Pro the least, but it still goes under.:face-icon-small-ton

proclimb

I have been a cat guy forever, but after a week of back to back comparisons the pro is so far advanced to the cat it isn't funny.

The drivability is night and day.

My 1999 Polaris XC 700 had 17,000+ miles on it when I sold it. Never did one thing to the motor. Had 120 LBS compression on both cylinders. Why they can't do that now is beyond me.:face-icon-small-con

I am a CAT rider for the past 30 yrs. I have seriously considered switching to Polaris twice. Never have Cat ergos have always been just right for me and the fact both times I looked at jumping ship Bret Rasmussen had a sled either to put together or buy!
EXAMPLE:
IN '99 WAS Y2CATS SIBLING A '98 PS 678BB 144" RAN AWESOME!

IN DECEMBER '02 CAME '03 900 ER 151"

NOW I HAVE THE '03 900 IN AN M CHASSIS!

BUT POLARIS IS ONCE AGAIN ON MY RADAR FOR ANOTHER SLED!

PS CAPS ARE FOR EXPRESSION NOT ONLY YELLING!:face-icon-small-coo

I think they ride better on the trails than Pro.Did not like wide turning radius.Liked much, much better than 09 Summits off trail.Didnt feel as light or as easy to lay over as my Pro.Didnt get to try on any huge hills because of avy danger, but on some of the smaller hills we did hit, it seemed pretty strong.Have to love Suzuki 800.I think PC pulls harder than the Ms did, likely because no diamond drive.Guy with PC I rode was thinking about getting rid of it and getting a Pro.Not sure if that is still his intention.Overall I like my Pro better than PC.

The only sled i haved loved more is my 05 polaris rmk 900:face-icon-small-win. Will make you a good deal on a 12 pro climb 800.

i do find it unlikely, but i have seen sleds with 30,000 miles on them, some 2 strokes in the mid to high teens. My 96 skidoo 500 SLS has about 8000 miles on it but it needs EVERYTHING replaced....even though it still starts and rides. But to have a sled like that you have to take purfect care of it and TRAIL ride. In yellowstone park, some of the yamaha's have went that far with minimal issues, but to be fair, it's kinda like saying there are a few chevy duramax's running around with a 1,000,000 miles. My engine in my duramax went to 98,000 before a bad injector cracked a piston. To say that they build osme better than other's is true, mass production does not yeald the same results purfectly everytime.

Would you atleast agree with me that for a 2 stroke to go that many miles, it wasn't abused at all and wasn't "performance built". There are alot of race engines that cost more than my truck, that last 30 races ( maybe 15 miles)? then a compleate tear down. You know what they say, a horse that ...craps fast don't crap long.
