well he posted a derogatory term used for people who have a dark complection. He used this term to describe someone who stole fuel outta a guy's car. I personally think that alone is worth a perma ban.

I am quite sure anyone here could say "Honkey", or we could refer to the Mexicans, Jewish, Chinese, Indians, Eskimos, Japanese etc in their common slang terms & it would fly.
But if someone refers to a Negro in their common slang term and all of a sudden we have a hate crime in progress.
It's a double standard.

SRM does bring a lot of posting to Fouled Plug, I will give him that.

One thing a lot of you guys don't realize is the amount of comments that we receive in the Moderator's forum. In this case, the amount of people that have asked us why he has not been banned permanently for many of the things he has posted this winter.

I think I am beginning to understand the problem.

It's the uptight crybabies who run to the moderators & cry instead of simply putting the guy on their "ignore" list.

I'm going to play your game Maf. So lets say a member puts everyone on ignore that they do not agree with what they say. Now lets say they are paying members. Pretty soon some will only be able to see about half of what is going on. Then they decide why pay for a site that I do not get 100% out of. so they leave. Site dies. Now with that said if you pay for a membership you should be able to say something about stuff going on that you feel is inappropriate. If the mods view it as the same then it is their responsibility to do something about it. If they don't see anything wrong with it then the person can go elsewhere or they don't have to read it.
As someone who got banned for posting Obama jokes that were deemed inappropriate right after he took office I understand (sort of). But I didn't continue to do the same thing over and over, I quit doing it. If it would have been my forum I would have continued to do it but it isn't. I have also been told to tone it down a little and I have. (sort of)
When you are in someone elses house you play by their rules, if you do not like their rules in their house go build your own house and make your own rules.

I'd bet a twenty dollars, that if s---,k---, ch---, prairie n----- or g--- were used on this forum they would be deleted as soon as they were seen by a mod.

Quite often it has been him targeted, not his statements.

hey im the first to admit i hunt SRM down every chance i have...why..its because thats why he is in the game..and he returns it until HE GOES OUTSIDE THE BOUNDRIES.

He never has or if any very few snowmobile related posts...and that is not the issue but does indicate HIS preferance to be mostly in fouled plug of which he has had ALOT of time to learn to stay within the ropes..

Sure he gets singled out..but that is not OUR fault...it is HIS character that brings the worst out in us...lol....

He loves the game...and so do we...as long as its in fouled plug and within the rules its all part of this section of the forum..

If anything i think SRM has been given alot of LEEWAY by the mods because SRM did create some activity but a line i guess was drawn somewhere of which i have no idea but i think the Mods are EXTREMELY fair given the guidelines that they probably are GIVEN TO THEM from the corporate entity..jmho

Honestly, I don't think I've ever gone after someone for no reason. I gave SRM multiple chances and he bugged the crap outta me because he never refused to listen to logic and make a logical conclusion. If he thought the grass was blue and I showed him indisputable scientific evidence that due to the refraction of light that the wavelength was in the spectrum of the color "green" he wouldn't believe it because going into the argument he thought the color was blue. And to him anyone who looked at the evidence and changed their minds they became "flip-floppers". He was an ignorant dude at best.

And trust me there are plenty more reasons why he was disliked. It used to be popular to make fun of mittens because he made stupid comments, but now that he posts like an intelligent person he now has some credibility and respect(It also helped he stopped bragging about how rich he was ).



And in terms of the moderation I think you guys would prefer that they just delete some stuff and do nothing else. In other places I've seen them hand out punishment and delete. I think if they just delete inappropriate material that's not really a problem and if you don't like it no ones forcing you to post here...

I agree with the fact if someone called me a honkey or cracker and they would get away with it. But the fact we let them get away with it means we are the better people, we take it light, laugh a little etc... Only you can decide if it bother you or not. I let almost everything role off and don't let people bring me down, that should be obvious.

But a racist statement is what it is and is not allowed and yes it is more sensitive in some ways. I think its nonsense but thats my choice and you can't force other to agree. Kinda the whole point of free agency.

Since it came up though, I referred to the most recent president using the name numb nvtz and it got edited. That one really pi$$ed me off. Not because it may or may not have been right but because I'm sick of the freedom of speech being torn down anywhere the pres. goes. I see it every day, but that dick can blame everyone else and have every discredit and slander everyone else. Its a 2 way street in my life and I do bring a pretty fair amount of info to the table along with helping many others. Even though plenty complain about my opinion (if you don't like it you don't have to read it) I hope this site and country can maintain 2 lanes in each direction. Not 2 lanes over a cliff.

But I agree, don't make comments that are obvious red flags and you will be fine.
