Any fly fishers here? NEW world record Salmon taken by fly fisher

That's a big one TurboTim. What did you get that one on? Fly?

The fish over here, was taken on the Infamous Thunder & Lightning Fly. And that name pretty much summed up our crappy summer over here too.

Yesterday we went out and fished on the sea and caught some good fish. Mostly cod(?) Was fun for sure. Lots of fish to catch here. Might be another trip out with the boat tomorrow...

Some great pics of nice fish taken on here! Skogen-lucky dog, wish I was from Simms:face-icon-small-win TurboTim, nice fish! Love the color of the Kings after they've been back in the freshwater for a bit! Couple weeks ago I was fishing a public pond outside of Laurel, Montana and I swear the little rainbow I caught was no bigger than an inch and a half. Was stripping in a hares ear and didn't even know he was attached until I saw him fly threw the air on my backcast. I just forward casted and back into the pond he went. Sure he had a pretty good head rush after that one:cool:

The pic is from 2006 and was taken on the Kenai River in Alaska. Simms has no salmon, but good rainbow/brown fishing. Nice whitetails and pheasants also.

Montana is an awesome state:beer; Have relatives spread out everywhere up there! I've been spending a lot of time in the recent years fishing British Columbia(Frasier & Harrison Rivers). Been hooking into lots of Chum, Pinks, Sockeye, Silvers, and sturgeon. As you already know, depending on the time of the year. It's a little easier on the checkbook. STS Guiding(Vic), I swear the rivers run in his blood. Sometimes we just pay him $50/person to run us up the river in his jetboat and drop us off, picking us up latter part of the day. Never had a slow day fishing with him. 3 of us picked up over 200 Pinks in a half day fishing, the other half landed 6 sturgeon! Fun place:) Seems a guy gets a little spoiled fishing where we do and returning to the cuts, bows, brookies, and browns. Gotta love the trout fishing in the states though:face-icon-small-win
