Any 2010 spy pics yet?

My guess for next year is new fuel management. They have stricter regulations for 2010 and I think they will all have to go direct injection on the 2 strokes next year. Re-engineering that will cost them enough dough that I don't expect any other changes, at least nothing major. And the m series is working very well this year, from the one I rode to the ones we have sold to customers, this is the best year yet. Just my opinion.

I agree with rzjim, direct injection is a must and will most likely will be out this next year. Also it's not like they get done with one year's sleds and then sit down to figure out what's going to happen next year. They already have a plan that goes out several years. The changes coming have already been in develepment for sometime and any tools that needed to be retooled have already been ordered. Now the 2011 sleds may not change at all since it's easy to put these upgrades or changes on hold.
This is not to say somethings they had planed for the coming year won't happen, but the ball is already rolling for most of it.

Ski Doo has been the Canadian gov't "bail-out" king for years.

Poo and AC joining forces makes perfect sense since they were both originally started by the same guy and are geographically - both mfg footprint and corporate headquarters wise - right next door.

Prius...err...Toyota faithful will keep Yamahaha alive. Why, I don't know but whatever.

Speaking of a AC/Poo merger - Image taking the best of a M and a RMK and making one new sled. Ok, it'd pretty much be a M but had you thinking there for a moment! :D

I'm not a Ski-doo guy but you are wrong about this. The Bombardier that gets all the money from the Canadian Gov't is the one building Rail systems and Airplanes, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) was sold a couple years ago to some U.S. investment group I believe...

That said the gov't continues to give bombardier transportation tons of tax incentives and bail out money, mainly because they are in Quebec and we are forced to appease the french because of some messed up politics...

Its different everywhere you go but here in SW BC you hardly see anything but ski doos as those are the only dealers around. I think all 4 manufacturers will survive, and I think many will be surprised how short lived this recession is....

And no I have seen or heard nothing about the 2010 CATS:D

i don't think you'll see it for 2010 model year... because the 2010 regs regulate models produced after 1-1-2010... this will affect 2011 model sleds... therefore, you may see a new motor this year but will be in limited availability as a 'proof of concept' and to work out bugs... widespread deployment for 2011 model year though...

Not exactly true... polaris was founded by the brother of the founder of arctic cat but very close

according to maxsled,newz1turbo is 717lbs,skidoo 4 stroke is 578lbs.how are you gonna make z1 a mountain sled for 2010? 140lbs is alot of weight to drop.

Your statement isn't exactly true either from the perspective that Edgar is regarded as the grandfather of the snowmobile industry as we know it.

Edgar Hetteen along with David Johnson (his brother-in-law) and Allan Hetten (his brother) founded Hetteen Hoist and Derrick in 1945 which later became Polaris.

It is true that David and Allan built the first Polaris Snow Traveler with the caveat that they both worked for Edgar.

The first Polaris snowmobile owner just wanted to ride. The second Polaris snowmobile owner wanted to race the first owner. The rest is history.

In 1960 Edgar left Polaris to form Polar Manufacturing in Thief River Falls which became Arctic Enterprises and later was reborn as our current beloved Arctic Cat as we know it today.

And the bonus question - What was the first product manufactured and marketed in TRF by Polar Manufacturing (Arctic Cat)? Hint - It didn't have an engine.

New Sleds

I do know that there wil be the RTR. Ready to Run pump gas turbo. I have also heard that there isn't much change other than shocks. That is all I KNOW.

Must have been a sled for hauling machinery across the tundra, Maybe it was a freezer? Maybe a "KING OF THE HILL" sled that I still have hanging up in the storage shed. I thought it was in '58 that they had the first machines. When was the first "Black sleds mfg'd?

I got an idea, how about throw the motor in the M-Chassis??? Something tells me it fits just fine........call it a hunch.......

The RTR is not a Arctic Cat factory sled, it's a stock sled bought from Cat and turboed by Boondocker. There is no warranty from Cat, it's no different then a dealer modding a sled before they sell it, cat will take no responsibility for anything that happens to the RTR.

On another note, word is that the M chassis is staying, the sled this year should be lighter and have more power. I wouldn't expect anything huge.
