I was just talking to a buddy and he said that his sled broke down on him and the antifreeze is black and it is back firing. And also when it first happened he couldn't get the recoil to work like the motor had seized up. Then after a while he was able to pull on the recoil and the sled started but it wouldn't run good, it just kept spitting and backfiring. What could cause this problem?

not that i know but it might help for you to give a little more information as to what kind of sled ect
Detonation....piston seized in cylinder.....lost head gasket and/or base gasket??? Oil mixed with antifreeze from case??? More likely to have antifreeze in oil though?? Just thoughts....

Probably a cracked head, leaking head gasket, or cracked cylinder.
The most info I have is that the sled is a 99 powder special 700 and he just replaced one of the pistons, I was thinking head gasket too. But figured I'd ask and see what some one else may know. Hw will tear it down this week and then I'll know more.
