Anti stab Turbo Yamha?

I am replacing my rails with 174" Ice age, some boggy wheels, and noticed the plastic anti stab ends on my stock rails have worn a little.

Has anybody stabbed an Apex track?

Does it make it more likely with the 174" track or less likely.

If I do not add an ati stab kit what can I do to decrease or illiminate the chances of a stab?

Thanks

I know of a couple stabbing their tracks, Apex MCX w. Extreme's.
Pull the limiter and running the track tight is a thumbs rule.
I have looked @ pictures on how the track looks like between the drivers and skid under boost and it's no wonder why rails can spear the track.
When i saw how worn my end caps were i ordered anti-stabs right away.

I saw one get stabbed last year and I have been comtemplating adding some small wheels in the front because it was not pretty and could have been a lot worse

I have been running an Apex since 07 and I noticed the wear at the end of the rail. The anti stab kit is a good idea. I am planning on either buying one or maybe even making one. I think some big skateboard wheels will work. That is all they really are.:light: Or even roller blade wheels.

If you add anti stab don't leave the end caps off. Figure a way to have them on along with the wheels. I took mine off because the plastic was too thick to allow the anti-stab axle to fit and it cost me 2 tracks. First one because I didn't lock-tite the nuts and everything came loose and fell out and very shortly afterwards first track stabbed(new CE). Next time was when one of the axle retaining bolts(5/16 torqued to 85ft lbs with blue loc-tite) broke and of course with no end caps there was no protection and track 2 was beotched. Between those 2 events the wheel bearings both went south but i caught that during an inspection. This was all in the first 300mi. I took the anti-stab kit off and put new caps on and so far(1500 or so miles)all is well. These brgs need to be high speed and very water proof so don't cheap-out on that part no matter what you put under there.
Maybe someone here can suggest a really good anti-stab kit as well. I'd still like to have one under there.

Sounds like I need to keep the track tight and get new end caps.

I think I am going to have to replace the hyfax also, unless yamha and polaris are interchangeable.

I think my 174" rails are coming set up for Polaris hyfax instead of Yamaha.

I put a Wahl anti-stab kit on my IA162's with no end caps. Tried to keep the end caps but wouldn't fit, plus there's no way the track could hit the end caps without rolling off the stab wheels first. The Polaris slides have a little higher above channel profile and fit but they're really tight on and off.

I put a BDX cat anti-stab kit on my apex this year. I also installed IA rails at the same time. With the BDX kit all you have to do is drill a larger hole at the rail tips. Use the tips IA sends and drill them so that the anti-stab kit shaft fits tight against the rail. This way you have rail tips and the anti-stab kit. peace of mind foresure. just my .02.

post up some pics..

Nitro Anti Stab

A few pics of my wheels with the plastic caps also. There on Ice age rails. As mentioned above keep a sharp eye on the wheel bearings , you can pull the seal and grease if nessary.

Hmm, i removed the end caps when i installed anti-stab's, but as stated above, if the wheels come off for any reason the track will get speared for sure, i think i put them back, just for peace sake.
