Well, guess since everyone else is going turbo i might as well post up mine and get some input. This is an 05 900 RMK 166". I started on this project the summer of 2008 and didnt have a clue on what i was doing. Now with countless hours on snow west and way too much money invested, its getting colse to finished. The main reason for posting was the fact that my kit is way differtnt than the other 900 kits ive seen built. I have went more with the style of a newer setup on a 800 IQ. Tunnel dump is the main difference. So i hope it all works out for me. All feed back is welcome, positive and negitive. Ill get some good pictures on today. This is just a phone pic.

The things i would like advice on are
- Intake ideas
- oil pump placement(its mounted in the pics)just looking for alternate options
- Ideas on my footwell area. need more bracing, and a snow blockoff plate of some sort. Its all hacked up in there. The 900 was not ment for a tunnel dump for sure.

You can see in the picts, my buddy ran into me on the side. Thats why everythings bent up around the DP. I have some left over 4130 tubing from the Doo, I think ill make up some bracing with that. I would also like to get the pipes coated in the chrome finish that Himark has.

I have seen in the 509 videos where they run the intake straight up and OUT OF THE HOOD with a double layer (mesh) intake cover like those used for desert riding which will keep out fine particles of dust / snow.

oh man, that thing should be a ripper, hopefully shes running soon, and i get mine figured out.

as far as intake, 90 out the hood! and rock the prefilter socks like i got. there pretty cheap...

Sweet build, looks like your having fun with it. It takes alot of time building one from scratch to fit a sled.

As for the intake, do not put it out side the hood. If you do you will kick your self in the nutz everytime you ride in deep powder. Only way it works good out of the hood, is if you can hide it behind the windshield like the Powderlite apex kits.

Thanks for all of the help Justin. Just to fill everyone in, Justin from Silber has helped me out a ton. Always returned my phone calls and has helped me out alot. Got the turbo and oil tank from him. Great guy. Derick from Attitude is the other source. Ive spent lots of time on the phone with him and he has been very helpfull, As well as supplying parts. Wouldnt be here without you guys. Thanks for all of the help. Now i just hope she runs.

Nice looking build!!!! not one that many people have taken on, i like that.

As far as the intake i think just 90 ing it out of the hood is a pretty good option seeing as how you get all the air you will ever need and it will be cooler than if you kept it in the engine compartment, just my .02

Again nice looking build maybe we will see how it runs with a yamadoo this winter!! :)

That area is fairly damaged you have there. Plus also thin after getting the clearance and you WILL need some support there since a typical light snow roll over puts alot of preasure right on that point. This is how I braced mine up but you look like you would have less clearance than i did?? anyway I took a 1/8 aluminum strap and made a doubler that kicks off the main hoop bar and rivets right behind the outer edge.

Anyone have a good gearing set up for this sled. Right now i have stock 19/39
i bought a 41 a while ago but it wont fit with the stock chain. Would 18/41 be too low of gearing with a turbo?

yeah.. you want to be closer to 2:1... so stock should actually be half decent.. most people gear the sleds down, so who knows.. unless you want to keep the boost way down so you dont get scared!!!!! ;)

lookin good man, hopefully we can both get our sleds done here pretty soon.. hoping to get mine to stop sucking! then we can go crush the powder with some BOOST!!! hopefully up in whitefish when you come up!
