Another bogging issue!

Bog

Could also try gapping the plugs down that's what I have to do on my turbo to keep it from cutting out just a thought. I think I gap them down to .18mm but would have to check on that for sure

. I just installed an rk tek drop in n have roughly 250 miles on it and tonight while in powder and WOT, I hit a slight bog. Got off n on the throttle n not that exact moment did it bog but it did eventually bog out again 1/4 mile or less down the road. Changed plugs n made it another 1/4 mile or so and it bogged out again.. Lemme know what you find or if you have any ideas. Thanks

WOT Engine Bog

I would look at the exhaust sensor. My nephew was having a similair issue last weekend. Would bog on WOT then come right back to WOT - engine light would come on and stay on also. My brother did some digging (multi meter) and found the sensor circuit to be open all the time - not correct. Looking in a polaris service manual - there are parameters for checking the sensor. I believe that the book says range should be 2.3 milli-ohms at around 300 F to 67 ohms at 1670 F (which is basically burndown). Anyhow, took sensor out of another sled, installed it in problem sled, everything seems to run normal - no engine lights or bog. Will get a good full day of running today - but all indications (small test runs) are that sled is functioning normal. Will post back later today - if sled acts up.

Hope this may give some ideas.

Pat

Ok, 2011 Assault 800 with really annoying bogg issues.

-changed fuelfilter
-changed and adjusted tps
-"plugged" the gas switch in the handlebar

Is this it?? in bold?

IS any one Doing this with success?

It's been 29 days since I brought my sled into the dealer to get this "BOG" fixed. They have replaced and tried everything to fix it and are no further ahead than they were 29days ago. Polaris does not care when I get my sled back, I've had to cancelled many trips that I had planned and the funny thing is POLARIS is telling my dealer that they havent seen any other cases of "BOG" issues. They say that if I take my sled and ride it like it is they will not warranty any other damagaes that occur.

This is the second season i've been plagued with a POS sled. last year I was 5 weeks waiting for a shock to be rebuilt (sent to me without oil) in 2 seasons i've managed to get 3 rides on my new 2012 sled

It has been 3 weeks at the dealer and they still can not find my problem either. Now they are telling me it is injectors again and guess what they are back ordered . 3 times I have rode it this winter and it ran like chit .
Now my friends 12 is starting the bog issue and sounds like it is getting worse every ride .
I am so glad I kept my 700 dragon so at least I can ride . I believe it was the last good motor POlariS built .
It is hard to believe that no one can figure this out . Has anyone tried a different pipe ?

I had a bog on both my 11 & 13 at roughly 500 miles. Cleaned the power valve on the 11 and it was still there. Took it in & dealer cleaned the power valve again and the bog went away. They said when you clean the power valve, don't forget to clean the orfice into the head. The orfice gets gummed up at the bottom. Use a drill bit by hand and then a paperclip. Make sure you move the piston out of the way so you don't damage it when cleaning. I didn't use any fluids to clean the orfice. Cleaned the power valve and orfice on the 13 myself and no issues since. Good luck!!

today,I removed the engine from the sled , notice oil leak comming from the mag side crank seal. Don't know if this can cause bogging and bad idle.

Got lucky. Thoroughly cleaned VES, new plugs, and bog went away, at least so far. I am confident it's getting lots of oil, at least :face-icon-small-hap. Plugs were getting carbon fouled. Running Legend with a RKT drop in and oiler turned up. We'll see...

My 12 pro rmk has run fine up until yesterday (1400 miles), coming back to lodge yesterday we decided to ride a little more, down a hill at the bottom i hit the throttle it engine winds up an then about five grand it falls on its face for a second or two and then pulls out of it and goes to 8 grand, back at the lodge we plugged in the lap top with the Polaris software, do some tests, tps, etc, etc, fuel pump, while doing the fuel pump the pump was kinda making strange noises, we thought maybe bad fuel pressure but didn't have pressure gage to check it, so we disconnected the fuel return line and hardly any fuel came out and then the line kinda popped and shot fuel out like it was plugged, ran the fuel pump test three times with the return line disconnected and all seemed fine. Hooked up return line test ran the sled and no bog. I read all the posts in this thread and I did see anyone really describe there bog happens or I missed it, I am also wondering how many miles are on the sleds that have the bog. My point to all of this is maybe try to disconnect fuel return line and see if fuel is free flowing back to tank, we think maybe fuel regulator was sticking. We also saw some what looked to be small filings in the bucket we ran the fuel into.

Maybe this will help someone!

Good luck

Bogging issue that was a problem for me all last year was the fuel pump. The dealer pretty much thought fuel pump from the beginning but Polaris won't step up and let them replace it. Finally they got approval and the issue is gone and the sled's been running strong.

Often times it's very hard to find the problem and of course mother poo doesn't like to spend funds with out reason even if we want our sled the next day but to moms defense they are coming with tools that the techs can plug in and then take the machine out for a spin and it will test everything in a real world situation instead of the bench . I think this will help everyone be better satisfied except those that fudge on claims.

i am also having a bog issue it is a 2011 rmk 155, i have stock clutching, blue injectors, stock muffler and can, Have recently done the fix kit (huge improvement from stock). My bog comes on when i go to WOT it will pull 8100 then cut out to 6600 (where i can sometimes hold it taped and it wont come out of it), my VES system is capped off, and holes are clean. This doesn't do it all the time, but if i stop and chat for a couple mins and my coolant temp goes down to 100 its just about garrenteed that it will do it at least once before it gets back to 125. It generally will not bog after the engine it back up to 125, but the odd time it will, i can be pulling a wheelie at 8100 rpm and hit a hard drift and it will sack down to 6600 and just about put you over the bars. Some times it will pull through other times it wont. I have tried a new pipe sensor. Not showing and check engine lights. Have done a replay on the tach and my rpm doesn't go over 8250, seems to settle in around 8150. Could this be the coolant temp sensors? How many people have tried replacing this? Also is this the bog that guys seems to have with the blue injectors? ive checked my fuel pressure at an idle only and it was 63 lbs. Rebuilt the primary clutch, found a loose roller. Still bogs
