No shovels, no probes, no beacons, no training…

Doesn’t even begin to understand how lucky he is to be alive.

No idea that the CREATED that avalanche in a place he should never have been in the first place…

Without acquiring first a CLUE and then equipment and training we will soon be reading about his, and his buddies, deaths.

Sobering video...too bad the language wasn't cleaner in that. It could be used in a LOT of places.

I know a lot of my awareness for avalanches comes from being on here so much but to think these 3 guys had nothing with them for that situation is incredible.

I know I was later than a lot of people on here but I started riding in the mountains in 1996 when I lived in Superior, WI. I started carrying a backpack and shovel in 1999. I bought a probe and beacon in 2000. Now I don't leave home with out them.

Do you think any of the 3 will buy some equipment?

Where to start? One lucky SOB. Could have been a classic training vid.

Overbranded garish Slednecks gear: check
Helmet cam: check
Helmet for awesome helmet cam: check
Backpack for gear: naaah
Avy Essentials that would be in the pack: not today, cause We're gonna Shred Dude
Beacon: whu?
Brains: huh?

Dude where's my sled?

Saw this on another website.

This is Ontario Canada, EAST COAST from what I have heard. (please tell me different if I am wrong)

If this is EC than that is crazy. Of course they don't have a beacon or probe (shovel should be had)...

I lived on the East for 18 years and heard of 2 avy's ever.

thats funny cuz its true

I kept waiting for someone to have a shovel. That guy is seriously lucky to be alive. If your spending thousands on a sled you sure can spend money and get yourself an avy pack, beacon, probe, shovel. Maybe people should buy that befor the sled. Wow I can't believe they didn't have any of that. Everyone ride safe this weekend!

I assume all you experts are fully geared up with your helmets on when you are driving your sleds off the trailer? Would hate to catch a skag, go over the bars, and crack you numbskulls open. Can't ever be too prepared...
