Another 3" is born!

I'm running the series 7 3" on my 2013 with stock 2016 shaft and driver. Love it, but it def loves eating the flap. Gotta fold it up in to the grab bar to give it shape every once in a while.

No chaincase mod needed with a belt drive. I would recommend ice storm scratchers, a non ported snow flap (std rmk or axys 3") and the remote bypass tstat to help with cooling.

That is good to know.

Currently I have 2008 m8 with PC 3". Thinking of changing brand to polaris. But don't really know what should I buy pro or normal rmk.

Is that cooling really and issue? When does it over heat?

Its doesn't overheat as long as you watch the temps. Hard pack snow is when the cooling system shows some of its weekness' (slow riding also, need to be 20mph+ for decent cooling). If you don't ride hard pack trails all the time, temp wont be an issue.

Good scratchers, snowflap and remote tstat mod really helps with the cooling. I ride minimal trails at home but can be alot of hard concrete like snow (wind blown fields) and i would not go to a normal rmk. I watch my temps though.

Ok.

So I went and bought RMK Nordic Edition, which is basically pro with chaincase and frontcooler.

What is there to modify to fit 3" powerclaw to that one?

Chaincase mod, trim front rails, antistab kit and 7t 3" pitch avid "powerclaw" drivers.

Search for chaincase mod and you should find a pic of what is required, I think fastrax does the mod also.

Had it out in the mountains this past weekend, LOVE the 3"!

Works great, just need 50 more hp and life would be fantastic!

Here are a few, tricky to get a good shot of them.

Did you simply install the anti stab kit where the stock limiter goes, And then drill new holes for the limiter strap rod?

Pretty much, followed the kmod instructions (kmod conversion package).

Also have to trim the front rail tips and hyfax.

Anymore news on your new setup? Interested in doing this swap over the summer. Have you seen any downside other than cooling?

Works well. Downside is that it is a very aggressive track and does like to dig down a little when first taking off. Suspension setup may be part of this though, going to tweak it a little. Other thing I noticed with the power claw line of tracks is that they are not good on ice. A few trails up to the Alpine get really icy near the parking lot and these tracks don't do well at those points (worse than others I ride with).

Unless I get lucky and find a used one the cheapest I have seen them are 1199.00 and I have seen a few 2.6 PC for 500.00, is it worth the difference?

Ya I got lucky and found a new take off 3" for 800. The 2.6 works really well also (I found a used one for 400), I wouldn't be afraid to run it until you find a 3".

I have the cat 2.6" on a basically stock 15 pro. Best money ive spent on any of my sleds! I got a brand new take off for $600can and never looked back. The track hooks up real hard on the bottom end that i need to play with the clutching/gearing a little, deff a little laggy on bottom.

Sorry for the 21 questions but if it came down to camo x3 or the PC 2.6 would you take the PC? Thanks for the help
